snorlax

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote. Discussion about why you prefer one of these players compared to the others is useful to everyone involved and offers insight into how people in your leagues may view these players compared to others.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And now has become a topic of discussion in this thread: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...=296123&hl= I welcome you all to read this and offer your perspectives on methods you use in determining where to rank players in dynasty leagues.

Is it just me, or is there a significant drop off here?

I'm not sure who I'll end up voting for between Vincent Jackson, Jennings, Branch and Henry.

At this point we should see about 35 RB's off the board, 12 QB's, 7-8 TE's. These guys I see going in rounds 7-9 assuming 12 teams. There could be some good vet receivers if you go young WR early

Why would you assume 12 teams? Is there another league? That's where you've been every night, isn't it?

You caught me. I've been seeing some others on the side. Those commisioners and their silver tongues.

I went with Branch again
wannabee knows his stuff, but I wonder if there has been a more overrated fantasy WR over the past few years than Deion Branch. Not only has he never had a 1000 yard season, but he's also never had more than one 100 yard game in a season. He's not a threat to get in the end zone more than 5 times in a season. And he got outplayed by D.J. Hackett last season. I'd prefer to gamble on a guy like Vincent Jackson who has the ability to make the leap to double digit TDs. Give me the guy who has a shot to be a difference maker over someone I'd end up debating weekly whether he's my 3rd starting WR or not.

where would you rank Gates for leagues that use TEs are the same position as WRs
Around Plax...but because he's a TE you won't get that value
you're probably right, but it depends on scoring. TD heavy? Do TEs get extra points per reception?
No extra points for TE rec... Top 20 this season in PPR (1 pt across TE/WR) and standard, and top 10 two previous seasons (in both formats)... highly undervalued in non-TE required leagues

These receiver polls seem to be moving more quickly than the other ones. I can understand that vs. the quarterbacks, but everyone loves running backs.

These WRs are still significant as they may be weekly starters in 3 WR leagues whereas the RBs and QBs are far enough along that they are in more backup status now. I would think the WR polls should catchup somewhat because of that. Or at least we can hope so.

Hopefully we can get the next poll up here tomorrow. I don't think I'll add anyone new, unless someone obvious is missing.

Surprised Henderson hasn't gotten any votes. He is going in to his 3rd season like Jackson who has 25 votes, and he has done more thus far in his brief career.

edit: it will be his 4th season. What happened in his rookie season where he only played in 1 game?
