NFLDraftGuys

Football junkies have a new home.

NfL Draftguys showcases:

* Accessible, in-depth, year-round college scouting.

* Decisive fantasy projections for your rookie drafts.

* Insightful commentary that goes deeper than the stats.

Cecil Lammey.

Sigmund Bloom.

The stars of The Audible and Footballguys.com know the game.

The offseason is the new season of NFL football, and everything that's anything related to the draft can be found right here. Our scouts attend every major event from the Shrine Game through the draft, and they don't mince words when it comes to their projections. You want informed opinions? You got 'em. In spades.

But our coverage doesn't just start when the players hang up their helmets -- NFL Draftguys updates player profiles and rankings constantly throughout the college season.

Best of luck with your new site.

I enjoy the work of both of you at FBGs and look forward to going there.

Let us know if there is anything you guys would like to see added to the site. We're happy to make you guys happy.

Are you a Cecil or Bloom alias?
 You might remember Faletti as my writing partner in our 2006 Shrine Game Coverage. He's the architect of the site and he'll be writing content for the site. He also :wub:s Vince Young.

looks nice, does this mean you and cecil are leaving FBG?
nope, consider it a sister site.
What Bloom said. I've always been a big believer in trying to know what you know and more importantly, knowing what you don't know. We've always been a fan of the Draft but a FBG-esque coverage of the Draft was just something that wasn't in the cards though as a full fledged effort from Footballguys. We had an eye toward something like this when Cecil and Sigmund became a part of the FBG staff. They're clearly passionate and very good at the subject and I know they'll be a huge success. While also being a very key part of Footballguys. It'll be good.:thumbup:J

Ever consider if Cecil and Sigmund are just moles planted into FBGs as part of a larger coup d'etat conspiracy? I'm thinking you better have eyes in the back of your head. I think they're up to no good here.P.S. It does look like a great site. All part of their master plan, me thinks.

I think you will be very successful with this, especially with the tie-in to FBG.Assuming you will track the rookies for the first year of their NFL careers.Trying to think what would help me build my dynasty team, when it comes to rookies other than the rookie rankings as the fantasy rookie draft season starts. A quick update after the pre-season games but before the season begins. Someplace where you would find rookie free agent sleepers that were not drafted by a team but added after the draft or that outperformed their draft status during the pre-season. Hank Baskett, Colston, Mike Bell. Who are the real deals and who are just a flash in the pan.A rookie update somewhere around mid season, so you can plan waiver wire pick ups and making trades before your league deadline. Here looking for rookies that are not yet starters or stars but sleepers that a team might trade for if they are in the position to build for the future and not making a run for the playoffs.A final rookie update at the end of week 16 or 17 so free agent decisions can be made. Once again with the aim to build a dynasty team with an eye to the next season. Then you can start for the next rookie draft.

site is not coming up today

Sorry about the outage, y'all. Dreamhost is where I am hosting the site for now, and it decided last night would be a good time to crap the bed.

The site is bare-bones because we _just_ got it up for the Combine, but by the start of the college season, we hope to have football fans drooling.

Bloom,

nearly all the links are down. there's nothing on this site so far ( its new, I know, just wanted to give you a heads up in case you didn't know you had broken links). some of the articles about players ( Sean Baca's page reporting on days 1-4, for instance) look more like generic fluff pieces that actual hardcore fantasy football information. (ex., Joe McHugh, 6'2", 302lbs. woke up.drank coffee. got dressed. ran a 40 in 4.9. went home.Dallas and Cleveland interested) :banned:

Plus, the `5-minute head honcho`article is cheesy at best.

Generally, I love your work here at FBGs! but if your site is going to be a hardcore draft/combine/college player analysis reporting site, you've got to come up with stuff that I can't get from espn.com or nfl.com.

Kiper/Brandt/ESPN insider have a monopoly on that market.

are you going to have to pay a licensing fee to the NFL for using their likeness as part of your website address/company name? you're the only FF site on the 'net, that has 'NFL' in the URL.

I know the site is brand new, but if you're going to claim to be the authority for draft news from a FF perspective, or claim to be the site for football junkies, you've got to beat out the guys at nfl.com and espn.com, and if you're going to be an authority on college scouting, you'll need to beat out scouts.com, or ourlads.com, both exceptionally good college football scouting websites.

not trying to knock you down here, just stating that you might be a little fish in a big pond, jumping into the college scouting fray when that market is already saturated.

NYG56,Thanks for the feedback. This is definitely a soft launch - we had one of our people, Sean Baca, working for next level scouting and the NFL Combine, and wanted to give him a chance to give some combine updates to the crowd. He has not been able to devote all or even most of his energy to giving y'all the kind of coverage Cec and I provided at the all-star games because he's actually working conducting the interviews all day - this is basically "bonus" coverage. I think we've already shown with our coverage of the all star games that we can provide something that espn/nfl.com does not. The hard launch is going to be in anticipation of next year's college football season, and then most of our on site coverage next year will move from FBG to NFLDG.We're not a FF site, we're a draftnik site. Other draftnik sites have NFL in the title.Ourlads and Scout.com do produce a good scouting product, but we are not competing with them per se. We are a free site.We know we are a big fish in a small pond. We want to prove everyone in the next year that our stuff is worth your time. Seeing as the site has been live for about 48 hours, I'm sorry that we haven't done that yet, but I didn't expect it to happen overnight. Big Sean was gracious enough to give us some of his time during a very busy weekend, and we want to give his work the spotlight. From now until the draft we will be releasing:Cover 2's - Cec and I argue the high and low of top prospectsOn the clock - we argue who we would pick for each first round pickPositional Rankings with analysisThe robust player pages and scouting reports will come next college football season and our content and staff will have grown greatly.Hope you give us a chance to win you over during the next year, but even if we don't, thanks for giving us your time and attention.

Bloom and Cecil,

Keep up the good work and I for one will not judge you guys until you are fully running. I think you are off to a great start and wish everyone who is working with you guys the best of luck.

Thanks

I have no doubt that the content here will be excellent. I've been a fan of Bloom's writing since before he became FBG staff (and joined others in pushing for FBG to get him onboard).

I'm not sure why this couldn't be a section on FBG. You're offering it free anyway, why not have FBG take advantage of the great content for their users?

Also, my suggestion is to update the design of the site. I know this is a very rough draft of the site (always dangerous putting a rough draft out to the public as you're blowing that awe-inspiring "first impression" on a half-done product), but the design is dated, IMO. The content is the important thing, but you can't forget about the design. Too many sites forget about this, and unfortunately, that is what attracts people first.

Good luck! I look forward to seeing the finished site.

I don't think this will be a free site. The question was asked earlier about what it was going to cost and there was no reply given. So what is this site going to cost??

"over saturated" :blackdot: I think there is plenty of room for a new draft site, and find it refreshing that they come from a different angle than the others.
