I was thinking and shouldn't the Colts end up with some nice comp picks in the draft?

Lost:

Edge

Triplett

Thornton

Vandy

Gain:

Adam V

Would a 3rd and 2 4th's be possible?

I can see a high pick for Edge but you think Triplett, Thornton and Vandy warrant 4th round picks? Depends on how much they signed for I guess.

Late March (March 27th last year)

I would say

Edge is worth a 3rd

Thornton a 4th

Triplett a 5th

the K cancel each other out

Are this picks based just one what the player signed for or is their production for that season taken into account ?
mostly contract, but production seems to factor in a little.I'd say a likely outcome is:Edge $30m/4 years = 3rdthornton 22.5m/5 years = 4thTriplett 18m/5 years would probably be a 5thBut I doubt Vanderjagt will offset vinatieri since he got cut. If those are the only eligible players, I'm guessing Vinatieri will offset triplett.Edit: to correct number of years in thorton's contract from 4 to 5

If you read the KFFL message board explanation cited above, it looks like money is the main determining factor and all the other stuff may be more of a tiebreaker.Based on last year, the guy that wrote up the info projected Lamont Jordan as the lone 3rd round pick based on his $5.5 million average contract value and anyone in the $4-$5 million range as a 4th round pick.

Sorry, I wrote that down wrong. Thornton was 22.5m over FIVE years - his 4.5m/year is no better than a 4th.I'll go back and fix my original post.

David,I saw the Patriots projected to get a 3rd and 5th. Would the 3rd be for Givens and the 5th for Vinatieri? What about McGinnest?

Adam hasn't made his projections for this year yet.

The Pats cut McGinest so he doesn't qualify. I think Ashworth is a guy they could potentially get something like a #7 for.
