Rookie picks 1.4 - 1.10 (1 Viewer)

It seems to be just about set in stone that picks 1.1- 1.3 will be AP, CJ, and Lynch.

Who are the next 4 to 5 picks going to be?

I assume that at least 1 Rb will go to a decent situation- GB, NYG, NYJ, Balt?, Houst, Denv., etc.. and they would be the 1.4 pick. Is there another Rb that would be worth getting drafted next regardless, or would the next 3-4 picks be WRs in the rookie drafts?

Just trying to get a feel for the value of the mid-1st round rookie picks.

Depends on where they go. Meachem helped him self greatly, but where he goes will determine everything. Russell, Brady Quinn could too.

Probably Michael Bush depending on where he goes. Players drafted between 1.4 and 1.10 will likely be Jarrett, Russell, Quinn, Ginn, Meachem, Bush, Bowe, Rice.

Is there somebody that should be considered even before the draft that is better than the rest, or will these picks mostly be decided on who goes to the best situation out of guys like Ginn, Jarret, Meachum, Bowe, Bush, Irons, Quinn, Russell?

We vary with our opinions. I personally like Jarret more than the others, but am being sold here on Meachem and Bowe. Ginn is too risky IMO, but he could light it up in the right situation. I happen to like Michael Bush, but he's very risky as well. Quinn will be a solid #2 IMO, Russell could be a decent QB1 or a bust.If drafting today, I'd go AD, CJ, Lynch, Jarrett.

Aundrae Allison WR Colts

At least one RB is going to enter the top 10. At least. Seems to happen every year. Antonio Pittman or Tony Hunt could go to a team with an unsettled RB situation, someone like that.

Some will take a flyer on the backup RB's, if C. Fason can get drafted in that range of a rookie draft...then many more RB's will be taken by starved hungry RB owners.

WR's usually drop some and considering there is not a TE worthy of drafting in the first...maybe a few RB's are jumped on.

Don't sleep on Greg Olsen. I bet he ends up as good fantasy value at the end of round 1.

I just don't see him as value there in any stardard scoring league. He is not anymore athletic than Dallas Clark or Ben Watson who were more productive in college and now are below average FF starters (TE's in that 8-14 range). I think you can trade 1.12 for a better TE without having to wait for the learning curve. He may be a safe pick, but he doesn't scream value. Many dynasty value TE's are drafted in the second or 3rd round of FF drafts: recently guys like Cooley, Owen Daniels, McMichael, LJ Smith, Ben Watson, Witten - etc.

I think there will be several more rb's drafted in 4-10:

my best guess right now

Pittman

Irons

Leonard (if he looks to be a feature back or goes to a creative team)

Booker

RB's that get drafted on the first day almost always go in the first round. The recent success of Westbrook, Gore, Betts and Jones Drew as guys with less than ideal measurables that got drafted on the first day will continue to drive this. It is not going to go Peterson/Johnson/Lynch and then 5 wrs and 2 QBS.

I still like Kenny Irons as the third best back in the class. He could jump up late ala Julius Jones and Tatum Bell.

But to me, the story of this draft class is the WRs. There are 9-10 solid prospects at this position this year.

I'm sitting at 1.7 and 1.8 this year and have no clue where to go.

Maybe QB (Leinart, Favre, Carr) Is all I have

Possibly RB (LT, McGahee, Caddy... Then a bunch of junk)

Possibly WR (Andre Johnson, Lee Evans, Then some junk)

My guess in some order...will probably change once we see the actual draft.

Russell

Quinn

pittman

Irons

Meacham

Bowe

Jarrett

Ginn

Booker

If you want immediate help this does not look like the class to get it in. In about half of my leagues I have moved out of the first round...In the others, I am in postion where I can wait a couple of years or have not gotten trades that I like. there will be a surprise next season, but WR/QBs usually take some time and none of the other RBs are better than 50/50 to really mattering from a fantasy standpoint.

Not to mention - E Shelton, JJ Arrington, R Moats (the list goes on-n-on-n-on...)
