Moulds tells it like it is. (1 Viewer)

The Houston Chronicle reports in a parting shot, former Texans WR Eric Moulds spoke Wednesday about what he felt limited this team's chances to succeed last season. The Texans won six games in 2006. Two more wins would have had the club on the brink of the playoffs. Moulds said it was QB David Carr who hindered the team's chances, saying that at some point "the quarterback has to show that he can carry (the team)."

Can't argue with that one. Moulds is the 2006 scapegoat for the TOTAL 100% SUCKTITUDE of carr.

Typical Moulds. Blame it on everyone else but himself. I loved the guy in Buffalo but I can't think of a single time where he stood up and took blame for something or came out and really stuck up for a teammate that was taking some media abuse.

At this point Moulds is a has been and a bitter grumpy man. He took the biggest contract offered to him and is now upset that he got cut. This is nothing more than sour grapes. He knew what he was signing onto with the Texans. He knew who was their QB and how bad the team had been. He took the biggest payday out there and will do the same thing again this time. He's not a guy looking for his shot at the Super Bowl. He's a guy looking for the biggest paycheck.

Well, yesterday was a good day for Texans' players not exactly endorsing Carr

ROBINSON WEIGHS IN

Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson said Wednesday night that he believes it is time for quarterback David Carr to be traded.

"It's just my opinion, but I think it's that time," Robinson said. "We haven't won. I'm not saying it's David's fault, and I'm not saying he can't be a great quarterback with another team. But he's been here for five years, and the best we've been able to do is 7-9. I just think it's time for us to make some moves that'll help the Texans become a winning team."

Who are you? :ptts:

I have a pretty low opinion of Moulds throwing people under the bus, as he's done now in two cities.

That said, when more than one player is talking this way about a QB with a 68% completion % (and there are other rumblings I've read from 'unnamed players'), it makes you wonder.

What are you wondering about? It's been pretty darn obvious that Carr is not an NFL calibre QB for years.Oh, wait. It's the OLine's fault.

Have you seen these 68% completion passes? It was LB Keith Bullock (TEN) who said it best: 'David Carr doesn't scare anyone. We let him dink and dunk all day because we knew he couldn't beat us'.

He didn't say anything that the world didn't already know.

Yeah, I knew Drew Brees wasn't a NFL calibre QB either.

I hope the Bills snag him back Yes he only grabs 9.9 ypc but if he can finally accept being a number 2 or 3 his size would be great on third down conversions.

I'm sure that if Houston had P. Manning as a QB they would have won back to back SBs. It is one thing to throw a QB under the bus on a good team but when you are talking about a terrible expansion team you lose credibility. I think Bullock was saying Carr or anyone else couldn't beat them with that team. I think Joe Montana did pretty well with the dink and dunk but he sure would not have seen a SB if he played for Houston.

No, he was referring to Carr's abilities. Not the team. That's a fact.

I decided to dig it up for you.

The Houston Chronicle reports the Titans were expecting exactly what they saw from QB David Carr. He completed 17-of-23 passes for 140 yards but rarely looked downfield. "Carr has a high completion rate," LB Keith Bulluck said. "He throws 6- or 7-yard passes and completes a lot of them, but nothing to really stretch the defense. Nothing that will really hurt you." Carr entered the game leading the NFL with a 69.1 percent completion rate.
