as reported by Clayton on Breaking News segment. Deals are 30 minutes old:

Steinbach to Browns for 7 yrs at 49 mill with 17 mill in guarantees

Dockery to Buffalo for similar deal -> 7 yrs at 49 mill with 16 mill in guarantees

Davis is on his way to Washington. He is currently in Dallas

Graham has not signed with Denver.

:clap: The O-line could finally be half decent! That's a lot of cake though. I'm surprised they dropped that much on an OG.
 
As mentioned on NFL radio today by Pat Kirwan, does it make a lot of sense to pay interior lineman more than your QBs?

Dielman is likely going to get $8MM plus as well (at least that's what Seattle plans to offer). I know the salary cap is up, but that's a ton of money to wrap up in any lineman that isn't a LT.

You build championships from the inside out, not by having flashy WR, RB, and QBs...look at the teams picking in the top10 of the draft. Most if not all need serious upgrades on their OL. Hutch set the bar last year, no surprise that these 2 are getting duplicate type contracts. Detroit drafted flashy WR and has nothing to show...Oakland has flash at the skills but nothing in the core of that line, Cleveland, Tampa Bay...they all need OL help, major help.

Thank goodness!! The Vikings don't have squat at any of those places (with the exception of Taylor). :pics:

The left side of their OL has the potential to be great. They need a QB, WR, and a better RB, you're absolutely right. They should be looking for a slightly younger veteran QB...Brad Johnson is just too old, get a guy that can play the position...they need something to go with Chester Taylor, and they need some help at WR no doubt. But those things can be found, a great OL is hard to build.
 
I believe Steinbach was being sold as a tackle. I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting at that position rather then a guard.

 
I think the Bills are doing this right.... that O line is now significantly upgraded. Now, what do they do with MaGahee? I see him as gone, one way or another, but whatever RB the Bills draft is going to move up about 7 spots in my rankings now.... and I'm none too happy about all of this as a Jets fan.

 
NFLN is actually reporting the the Bills signed Dockery to a 5 year $25M deal. Should be interesting to see what the real numbers turn out to be.

Bills projected OL: Peters, Dockery, Fowler, Whittle/Preston, Walker

with Pennington, Butler, Merz as depth

Gotta be an improvement for them. I think they are trying to improve but also send a message to mcGahee that he better have his "A" game. More time to throw for Losman means more 80 yd TD to lee Evans...I like these moves by Buffalo. They play in what I feel is one of the more competitive divisions. Signings like this push you ahead. Good for them.
 
I like Dockery, but he's not worth that much money even for the Redskins who would be the only team in the league who could benefit from signing him not only from his skills, but from continuity.

 
AFC East pass rushers are going to eat Langston's lunch. He's been a stiff for almost his entire career. Looked promising early, never put it together.

He will, however, block a few FG's this year.

hopefully, he's better than Mike Williams was...which shouldn't be too difficult.

I think that Langston will actually be played at RG with Pennington/Butler at RT. Langston has the build and skills more suited to Guard than Tackle. His numbers seem to indicate that when he played at Guard for the Raiders he performed pretty well. It was only when they asked him to play at RT that there were some problems. And let's face it, the entire line was a joke in Oakland last season and their QBs were terrible. They had no WRs to throw the ball too and no running game. So I'm willing to cut him a little slack for last year anyway.But like I said, I think that the Bills actually envision him at RG, not RT.

Last year was the only year that he's even played at tackle. :headbang:And it looks like NFLN had just screwed up. Walker got the 5 year $25M deal. Seems like he was overpaid quite a bit IMO. The Bills need to stop paying guys more than what other teams would be willing to give them by so much. Robert Royal? Josh Reed? Walker? All overpaid IMO. I'm happy that the Bills are aggressively trying to improve the O-line, but they need to start understanding value a little better.

Not true. But has played a lot of RG. Even played some LT as a rook, but most of his action has been at RT.

I bow to your superior knowledge here and stand corrected. I had read otherwise but trust you on this one. From what I've read, a lot of his troubles come from his footwork. That leads me to believe that he'd be a better fit as a guard. But the NFL.com article says that it looks like the Bills plan to play him at RT. Should be interesting. I hope that McNally can work out his footwork issues and turn him into something useful. Otherwise we're going to have a guy with a 5 year $25M contract sitting behind Pennington.
