I was hoping this would finally happen! I picked Schaub up in free agency back in February for $3. He should make a fine QB3 in my dynasty league.

Wow. The Houston Texans actually made a smart move? Is this a dream? Can somebody pinch me?

good move.

I still believe the Texans need O-Lineman though.

IMO

Andre ++

Shaub ++

Starting RB + (Nice to have a bigger threat through the air, should make it harder to keep 8 in the box)

Texans D + (added time of possession should help this D)

ESPN radio is reporting the trade is a done deal, just done "completed"

Schaub to the Texans for a 2nd rounder

I wonder what the "other considerations" are.

I think this is a good move for the Texans. They guarantee another QB -- and one who has experience in the NFL with their 2nd pick.

Now they are free to draft Levi Brown or DL at the 8 spot. It takes guess work out of the draft for them.

I wonder if this signals a trade of Carr?

I suspect most teams would prefer to have the Titans cut Carr, but with the $8million bonus already paid, he may actually be cheaper in trade -- especially if it is a late rounder.

If you are the Texans, you can't keep Carr along with Schaub and Rosenfels. Can you?

Great move for the Texans, but if they don't protect the QB, what's the point. The Falcons traded the wrong QB. Who is their backup now?

This is your subconscience talking...

Stupid Minnesota Vikings. Schaub for a 2nd? :wall:
:thumbup: I was confused when they wasted their 2nd rounder on Tavaris Jackson last year, and am confused big time on this. Unless they have some plans for the near future, or Jackson is coming along nice, both moves are a big :confused:
Granted the asking price might not have been as cheap last year, so trading for Schaub with that 2nd rounder might not have been enough. When you put Jackson and Schaub next to each other though, you do have to wonder why the Vikings didn't act or try to get him.

If Schaub is at least average in his pocket awareness, you will see how poor in that area Carr has been.

I'm loving this. It's a good day to be a Texans fan.

Now rumors are swirling all over the place about what this means for Carr and draft day

- Carr to Oakland for Moss or picks?

- Carr and #8 to Oakland for #1? (To draft Peterson)

- Texans trade down and get the 2nd rounder back and draft more linemen for needs

Most likely scenario now, in my opinion, is staying at #8 and drafting LaRon Landry. It'd give us a solid young player at every depth in the defense (Mario, DeMeco, and then LaRon).

Schaub, Reggie Bush, and Andre Johnson are going to anchor that offense for years to come.
Oh, what could have been. Still I think we are hyping Schaub a little much.
Um, yeah. I think it's a solid move, but hardly the "OMG Johnson is gonna be a stud now!" kind of thing I see in this thread...
Yeap. Career 50% completion and 6.4 yards per attempt isn't screaming instant-success to me. Especially in HOU. 161 career passes is not something I'd be counting on to definitely improve my team. I still think its possibly better than a 2nd round QB they would draft, but hardly the for-sure answer at QB down there.

So is the texan's 2nd, ATLs 2nd, ATLs 1.10 enough to get 1.01? :/
:thumbup:
Schaub is certainly going to make an impact in Texas...but I think the bigger impact is CJ in Atlanta!I repeat ooobaby's question...will it be enough?
If you go by the pick value chart (what else do we have to go on) the #1 overall is worth 3000 points.If Atlanta traded the 1st, both 2nds, and the 3rd, they'd have 2485 points.On the surface, not enough.

I guess the question becomes whether Schaub will be the next Matt Hasselbeck or the next A.J. Feeley. There's definitely a mixed set of results when a backup QB is traded to another team to be a starter.
