I didn't think this belonged in the other advice forum since its only defensive players.

Opinions on keeping one of these guys. I can keep one.

Kelsay, DE BUF

J. Hall, DE STL

S. Schweigert, S OAK

O. Atogwe, S STL

I already have great depth a DB (Hope, Demps, M. Lewis, Considine, Y. Bell) and we only start 2

At DL, I have J. Smith, Strahan & D. Howard and we only start 2.

Can't wait for bcr8f's opinion :lmao:

TIA

The difference in depth between the two positions would make me protect the DL, especially with Howard a potential cut and Strahan no sure thing even if he recovers. I think I'd lean toward keeping Hall over Kelsay for the upside. Hall is a little less likely to get caught up in a rotational situation. I might consider Atogwe or Schweigert over Bell, too. I'm not a huge fan of Schweigert but he keeps putting up stats. Since you'll only be playing two, that's not a major deal though on the back end of the roster. I'd stick with the guys with the highest upside as you have.

Gotta agree with Jene on Kelsay... he and Denney are high risk guys in a rotation. They will have multiple sack games and do nothing for the next 6 weeks. Even if you are good at watching the matchups they have on a weekly basis, which one will have the big week? I think Denney had a 4 sack game last year, and that was where most of his point total came from.... Kelsay is a tiny bit more consistant, but still way to risky a play for my palate. Hall would be my choice.

Kampman's a RFA and he has offered to trade him to avoid losing him.

He turned down Charles Grant but may take Kelsey or Hall.

Kampman's owner is leaning towards keeping him at the moment. :banned:
I just noticed Zooty's are both RFA's too so that wouldn't help. I would trade Will Smith for him but like my DLmen the way they are too.I thought you'd rranchise Bart Scott over Kampman.

Jene - is Howard a potential cut due to salary, performance, d-line upgrades, all the above?

I'm still not sold on the idea that Howard may be cut.One of the biggest reasons for his lack of productivity last year was due to injury. Now fully recovered, the Eagles are hoping to see the player they paid for. This comes from Spadaro on the Eagles MB.

Plus if he is waived, who replaces him? Cole showed he can't be an everydown player for a full season, Thomas is more of a spare part also. McDougle?

Thanks for the reply! I had it down to Hall, Kelsey & Schweigert. Figured Schweigert was the odd man out due to my depth and was leaning towards Kelsey. Hall seems to fly under the radar and is coming off an injury so no one seems to notice him

I don't disagree. Just making the point that Howard isn't a very safe option for many reasons, potential release being one. At best, he'll be in a rotation with three other ends anyway.
