We are nearing the point of the offseason in which many startup dynasty drafts are held. In the next three weeks leading up to the NFL draft, I will be posting a series of polls asking about how you see this year's dynasty drafts unfolding.

The polls will be based on the following lineup-

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex (RB, WR, TE) K, D

As far as scoring, assume 4 points for passing TDs and PPR for all positions.

If you vote for other, please post and let us know who you voted for.

I think that the starting requirements should be listed, not for the 1st pick, but it will be needed sooner rather than later.

If you compare their career numbers from here on out, Jackson will have better numbers.
If you look far enough out.But LT will still crush Jacksons numbers for 3 more years.ETA- it remains to be seen if Jackson can maintain a high level of performance long term or if he will fall back or have injury issues later on. His prospect do look very good based on historical data the 4th and 5th years of a 1st round Rb are the highest percentage for peak performance.Tomlinson broke that mold exploding from allready top 3 status to uber 1 in year 6. 28 years old in June. He still has plenty left in the tank.

agreed. I love Bush and S-Jax, but you HAVE to take LT. He's superman for at least a few more years.
Yeah... I remember when we started up our dynasty league 8 years ago. I had the #1 overall pick and everyone was gushing about how I was going to have TERRELL DAVIS forever. You remember him, don't you? NFL MVP coming off a 2000-yard rushing season? :bag:

Yeah, it just seems that too often, people prefer a player who is either new to the league or has had one great season just because they're a couple years younger. 3-5 years later, the "old guy" is still performing while the young buck fizzled out. I'll take LT.

I think it is pretty safe to move on to #2 here...

I do agree that trading down is somthing I would look at. But the price would be high and the offer would have to be strong. I don't know that any owner would be willing to put themselves in that much of a hole to move up.

I am amazed that LT is not a unanimous choice here.
me to  he is in his prime, got about 4 more great years left
Steven Jackson is as well and has 8 years left.
You seem pretty certain of this.FYI no Rb drafted in the 1st round has posted a top 15 fantasy season in thier 10th year except Emmitt Smith who then fell off in his 11th season.Tiki Barber a 2nd round pick was a top 15 Rb until his 10th season as well. Curtis Martin is the 3rd Rb to have done this.No Rb has ever posted a top 15 season in thier 11th year in the league or after that to my knowledge.I figure posting top 15 numbers is a minimum to be considered a great season.I like LTs chances of becoming the 4th player to do it a lot more than Steven Jacksons.

# of teams in this "league"?The reason I ask, and others may disagree, is if this is a 20+ team league, I'm taking Manning earlier than I would in a 12. Not #1 overall, but #5 probably.ETA: also, are we to pick each pick by itself, or take a look at who we already have? If a 12 team league and #1, #24 and #25 are all RBs, that would impact picks #48 and 49.

I was being facetious and actually expect LT to stay healthier than most backs late in his career because of his conditioning and how he plays. However, the reality is that SJax is 4 years younger and is likely to put up similar numbers over the next four years and won't lose value the way LT is guaranteed to do. LT will be 30 in two years and not many people will be interested in him (see Alexander's dynasty value). At Jackson's age he could suffer an ACL and still have value afterward, it's not the same story with LT. I'm about a huge a fan of LT's as there is, but I'm trying to be realistic about him from a fantasy perspective.

Good points OZ. Let's go with 12 teams. As far as looking at what that team already has, I will let each voter make their own choice on how to view that.

Voted other. I would try to trade down.

If I couldn't get enough value out of it, I would take LT.
