Dayne to get goal-line looks? (1 Viewer)

It must be the offseason because our yearly "Ron Dayne should get some goal-line looks" tidbit is out. The article is mainly about Ahman Green and his adjustments as a Texan.

Houston Chronicle (at bottom)

With Dayne expected to be used in short-yardage situations, Green should receive the bulk of the carries in 2007. Green had 266 carries for 1,059 yards in 14 games with the Packers last season. He also had 46 receptions for 373 yards.
How long until the "Dayne's in the best shape of his career" article?

I didn't read the article but this makes no sense. Green is a much better short yardage back that Dayne, in fact you can't even compare the two.

Ahman Green is the most fundamentally sound back I've ever seen outside of his fumbling. He gets great pad level, runs low, hits with his shoulders and doesn't go down easily. As a Packer fan I'll miss him, as will Brett Favre. Green is a truly excellent ballplayer. Ron Dayne is a joke. I don't know how he still collects a paycheck from an NFL team.

He's also experienced in the zone system as he did so in HS and college and is very quick.

Green runs like a bull. It's very rare to see that man not make positive yardage. To take him out in the most critical point of the game seems beyond counterproductive IMO.

I had to start Ron Dayne out of desperation in last year's championship game...he had 150 yards and 2 tds and led me to the W. Now I can never make fun of him again.

I thought I read somewhere that A. Green is/was oneof the most successful RB's in the NFL on short yardage plays.....

Same here, he did a lot to win me the semi-final and championship game after K jones went down.
