Henderson has been placed into the Middle of the Minny's Tampa 2 Defense.

After missing all of last yr; Greenway should win the job of the WLB in Minny.

Assume that both start all 17 games and both are the 3 Down/Coverage Backers.

Who would you rather, Which one will produce more in a tackle heavy league?

Jene, need your input.

Under those assumptions, saying Greenway is fully recovered both physically and mentally, and really no reason not to, Chad's a tough ole farm boy, with a great work ethic. I think its going to be very close, but would give EJ a slight edge, just from his year of experience in the system. I noticed Henderson was very productive down the stretch last year.

I think you might see EJ may be more productive the 1st half of the season and Greenway in the 2nd, but like I said, the final numbers will prolly be close.

This is my feeling as well.

the WLB is tantalizing in c2, but sometimes positional disparities within a scheme found in historical precedents may not be cast in stone, but partly due to vagaries of individual & specific circumstances... derrick brooks is a heckuva player... transplanting cover two to another team doesn't necessarily enable us to safely generalize his production, consistency & stats... IF his doppleganger isn't as experienced, talented, etc...

greenway could be very good in time, but i would also give nod to henderson for experience edge (& though henderson had slow start to career, lets not forget that he had impressive draft pedigree, collegiate resume in his own right)...

Henderson has played the middle before, but hasn't produced. He played better on the outside, he was Minnesota's best LB last year. Maybe he'll preform better in the mike in the Cover-2, but I view him as a better in pursuit rather than coverage, so I don't see him becoming elite in the middle.

Greenway no one will know. We just didn't see him play at all, we saw a little second string action in preseason. I found in extremely disturbing that he couldn't unseat any starters in training camp. I had him pegged as a starter day 1. I know Henderson really shined in training camp at the will, so maybe that was Greenway's downfall. Simply put, journey-man Napolean Harris (whom the Vikes let walk in FA) must of performed better in the middle than Greenway did on the outside, otherwise the coaches would of put the best LBs on the field. Maybe Greenway will blossom with some seasoning, but his first impressions were not good in my eyes. His injury on special teams was pretty weak too... it's unjustified to call him brittle, but he might deserve a warning flag.

I would definitely put my money on Henderson, but I would only expect a handfull more tackles. He started to shine in the Cover-2. I guess it's easier to learn, a lot less thinking involved, a lot less responsibilities. EJ's production went up because of it.
