1.01 - Calvin Johnson - Raiders cant pass on a once in a decade player. There is no draft pick trade chart that can account for that. The Raiders will NOT pass on Calvin Johnson.
1.02 - Lions - Big Joe Thomas He is the safest pick in the draft. A+ Character. Lions move Jeff Backus inside and Joe Thomas is a fixture for the next 12 years. I see no way the Lions go with a QB because even in a ROY season the best he could expect to do is post #s similar to what Kitna put up last year. The Lions want to win this season so will take a player who can help them This season.
1.03 - Brady Quinn - Quinn has been going to the Browns ever since I started thinking about the draft. A Natural Leader which is what this Browns team needs most. Also will be able to get the ball to Winslow and Edwards and keep them inline when they get out of it. Quinn is has the face of a franchise potential, something I think Cleveland really needs bad.
1.04 - Adrian Peterson - Tampa Head man John Gruden has been doing an awful lot of complementing Caddy, which to me means that he doesnt want to tick him off. It is becoming more and more common for teams to require 2 capable backs - and I think Gruden is more than ready to dump Pittman out of town. I agree the 2 back monster is the best path to the playoffs. I think that they are going to select Peterson at #4. You can never have too many good RBs.
1.05 - Abomi Okoye - I believe that the Cards are going to go defensive line - probably Gaines Adams or Okoye. Offensively the Cards want to jump on a team early and then let their ground game work the clock. In order for that to work they need to be able to stop the other teams ground game by beefing up the interior.
1.06 - Gaines Adams - Skins - If Adams is there at 6 I cant see the skins passing on him. They really need an outside passrush and there is nobody better in this draft. Should start from day one.
1.07 - Marshawn Lynch - I think the Vikings are going to surprise alot of people with this pick. They really rode Chester Taylor last season and if thats the offense they want to run they would be best served to have to stellar backs. Not to mention this move should cause the Bills to move on Michael Turner and will leave the Packers looking at Chris Brown.
1.08 - Atlanta moved up for a reason and that was to take Leron Landry.
1.09 - Levi Brown - Logical pick for Miami. They need a tackle and Brown is going to be a great one. I dont believe the Culpepper getting cut rumors - he is getting alot of money to be a Dolphin. Remember the excitement before his injury - I think they are still just as excited about a healthy CPEP as they were before.
1.10 - Jamal Anderson - The Texans need someone to take some heat off of Mario Williams. I think the best way to do that is to get another good edge guy and they will select Anderson. Finally we will start to see what Super Mario is capable of.
1.11 - Patrick Willis - The Niners like workout wonders. Just look at last years 1st round pick. Willis will start right away at LB for the Niners and give them a real impact player on defense.
1.12 - Leon Hall - While I expect the Bills to package something to get Turner here, I dont like to predict trades cause one wrong move and your whole draft is busted. So sticking with the way it is, the Bills need to replace Nate Clements, plain and simple. When both Willis and Lynch are gone, they go with the CB who is most ready to play tomorrow. That man is Leon Hall.
1.13 - Ted Ginn - Rams are looking for a guy who will look good on that fast turf and who can replace aging Issac Bruce. Rams get to knock out 4 MAJOR needs with this pick. #1 - WR, #2 KR, #3 PR, and #4 a dime defensive back. Not the popular pick at all but Ginn will help this Rams team more than expected.
1.14 - Jamarcus Russell - Panthers get their QB of the present and future. The Freefall stops here. Suddenly Jake Delhomme is on the market.
1.15 - Lawrence Timmons - Steeler brass seems to love this guy and they are not hiding their feelings. Will replace Joey Porter.
1.16 - Adam Carriker - Packers finally get someone to lineup opposite AAron Kampmon and allow KGB to be a situational guy. Big break for the Packers unless they choose to trade this pick to SD. If thats the case I think SD would take him anyhow.
1.17 - Reggie Nelson - Jaguars need someone who can step right in for Deon Grant.
1.18 - Derville Revis - Bengals take the 2nd DB off the board. Bengals need defensive backs and Linebackers. I expect that to be addressed through the first 3 rounds.
1.19 - Robert Meachem - The Titans are going to get Vince Young some weapons. It just so happens that the best offensive weapon left is the local product Robert Meachem .
1.20 - Paul Posluszny Giants
1.21 - Chris Houston - Denver - Denver has to fill a need due to the off season tragedy. Houston will fit in well for Denver.
1.22 - Dwayne Jarrett - Cowboys - Glenn and Owens are getting to the end of their career and Jarrett would be a guy who could dominate in the Redzone with Owens attracting so much attention. Rumor has it he can hold for FG's.
1.23 - Joe Staley - Chiefs OLINE is what makes them go. They gotta keep the cabinet stocked.
1.24 - Michael Griffin - NE if by chance Ginn is still here this pick will take about 28 seconds.
1.25 - Justin Blalock - I think the Jets continue to try to build their OLINE. Adding a guard to that young oline would make the Jets a team to fear for a LONG time. Not going to be popular with the JETS faithful until they lead the league in rushing 4 out of the next 5 seasons.
1.26 - Sidney Rice - Eagles signed Jabar Gaffney but that isnt good enough.
1.27 - Aaron Ross - Saints biggest need. I dont know that Ross is a first rounder but the Saints dont mind reaching a bit at the end of round 1.
1.28 - Jon Beason - Patriots drafting a Miami guy doesnt make too much sense, but thats their biggest position of need right now after addressing S earlier.
1.29 - Aaron Sears - Ravens
1.30 - Kenny Irons - Chargers - Crazy perhaps but I dont anticipate Turner being here any longer. Irons to me is the 3rd best back in the draft and runs with rare power.
1.31 - Dwayne Bowe - Bears
1.32 - Quentin Moses - Colts - a Tweener in the mold of Freeney. Colts dont have alot of needs but Moses fits one as a situational pass rusher from the OLB spot. In the right situation he might break double diget sacks.
1.02 - Lions - Big Joe Thomas He is the safest pick in the draft. A+ Character. Lions move Jeff Backus inside and Joe Thomas is a fixture for the next 12 years.
