A great friend of the Audible and one of our favorite players. Also, the first division II player selected in the draft.

You'll have to take him VERY early if you want him in any rookie draft I am in.

Went to a good situation today as well. I'll have my eye on him in a couple of drafts for sure.

I'll admit I'm not excited about this pick. I wanted Mike Walker. Is Jones better than Walker?
Ditto...........I was waiting to see Walker's name mentioned and nada, instead Jacoby. I was thinkin' to myself - WTF? I'm not disappointed yet. But Walker was looking really good at that time.

He's the punt returner and 5th WR. Got a DWI during the offseason, and I've heard reports of immaturity. (more concerned about going out to the clubs than the playbook.)

There's talent there, questions are real whether or not it will ever play out on the field at WR.

Whatever happened to this guy?
I think he got the big head syndrome before he ever did anything. Now I just kinda feel sorry for him because everytime he touches the ball now something seems to just go wrong. Hopefully he learns a really big lesson from this early season and take the learning part of the game more seriously.

Man this kid has all the physical tools.Could it be that he just needs more experience ?.
as a texans homer, i can tell you this guy regressed big time, i think when he got too much spotlight...and he did here in houston and some on e espn, he got full of himself like he MADE IT. His coming out game against his hometown saints in the preseason was AWFUL...they did a special on him leading into the game for him to only fumble 2 times i know for sure....and couldnt catch chit. Now he is 5th on the depth chart behind AJ WALTERS DAVIS ANDERSON...i was one of his biggest fans....now he is a WW foddler to me.

Anyone holding on in dynasty formats for upside here? Walters is running w/ the opportunity and now Anderson is ahead of JJ...

I have an open slot (25 man rosters) on a dynasty team and found this thread searching for info on Jones as a potential developmental / sleeper guy. This news doesn't sound good though.

I'm wondering the same thing..My question to Bloom,Chaos, or any of the OG that really hyped this guy last season...Is he still worth holding onto in a 25 man dynasty? How long do you usually hold these guys before scrapping them for the next project?I would probably throw Jason Hill and Mike Walker in the same boat...when do you cut them loose?

As a Houston homer, I wouldnt be holding on to him, his potential doesn't appear at the moment to be materializing. He was in jeopardy of not even making the team as the 5th WR. The coaching staff really liked Harry Williams b/c of his special teams skillset and were heavily considering keeping Williams over Jones, especially after Jones's fumbilitis. Unfortunately with Williams career ending injury, it made the coaches decision easier, but only by default.

With Jacoby, is it just a fumbling problem? When I saw him in preseason last season, he looked like he had TO type physical ability and explosion. Is it just a mental thing, or have his physical talents diminished as well?

I would hold Hill and Walker before Jones at this point, but be ready for any signs that he's turned it around. Jones has the physical ability to be a quality starting WR in the NFL, but as others have said, he doesnt seem to have the maturity or consistency right now. Hill should get a shot next year, Bruce is old, and Bryant Johnson is on a one year deal. Walker's spot might have been usurped by a resurgent Matt Jones, but Jones could also be convicted, and who knows how that will impact his career. Walker is probably a better talent than Hill, but his knee makes his long term medical outlook cloudy.

Still has plenty of physical capability, just not there mentally. I really believe he thought he MADE it, and has hit the wall. He just makes lots of careless mistakes and seems lost out there. He is capable, I just don't see the upside in him anymore as of right now.
