For WRs & TEs: Receptions, Receiving Yards, Receiving TDsBest of Luck and ENJOY!

Clearly a top 3 stud TE. I like him behing Gates and ahead of Gonzalez so #2 overall.

70 rec, 900 yds, 7 tds

Todd Heap missed a few games early in his NFL career and got the "injury prone" label. However, he has played in sixteen games in four of the past five seasons. Furthermore, he has ranked 1st, 3rd, 3rd, and 4th among tight ends in those four seasons. The Baltimore passing game seems to be improving with the development of young wide receivers and Derrick Mason is reliable. The middle of the field should open up even more for Hep in 2007. The past two years have been very consistent with 75 receptions for 855 yards and 7 TDs, followed by 73 catches for 765 yards and 6 TDs.

I look for more of the same in 2007.

Heap 77 receptions for 880 yards and 7 TDs

If you don't like the idea of spending a high pick (or top $ for those of us in auction leagues) for Gates, Heap is a very dependable fallback option and in fact better value IMO. Should have another dependable, solid (but not amazing) year.

I had Todd Heap lat year and liked him as a quality TE.

One thing though, If you draft him you better get used to ????????????????????????

There were three or 4 times last year I had to pick up another TE because as late as Friday it did not look like Heap would play.

Having McNair and Heap on the same team would be a questionable nightmare!

if i have a mid/late 5th, early 6th round pick, i always look for heap when i'm in a draft. good value, not flashy, but gets the job done. the only thing you have to get use to is him being listed as questionable just about every week.

From sportsline:

Heap, who caught 73 passes for 765 yards and six touchdowns last year, is looking forward to producing even more in 2007 in his second year with quarterback Steve McNair."I expect a really big year," Heap told CBS SportsLine. "We had a lot of guys that were new this year, including Steve McNair. I expect to have a little more continuity heading into the start of next year."Ravens offensive coordinator Rick Neuheisel said a tight end like Heap causes so many matchup problems for opposing defenses. He likes the flexibility of having a versatile tight end."Everything about the NFL is matching up," Neuheisel recently told CBS SportsLine. "Every gameplan you start with, you say, 'OK, what personnel group do we want? Why do we want to be in it? Who plays defense when this personnel group is on the field? Who would have to cover this receiver and that receiver?' Never do we put a personnel group on the field that Todd Heap doesn't have a mismatch."
