The Audible - IDP 101 (1 Viewer)

Great stuff. :wall:

I LOVE IDP leagues. I play in both, but I like the IDP leagues much more, and part of the reason is with more positions/starters/roster spots, there are a lot more trades because IDP's make it a lot easier to even out trades.

Good job guys. Love it!

In my IPD league we go "full 11" IDP starters.

Roster 6 each DL, LB and DB

Start 3 DL, 4 LB and 4 DB

Can also start a 4-3 with 4 DL and 3 LB

On offense we have the "standard" 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 PK but we also add in 1 Head Coach and 1 Offensive Line to balance it out a bit.

I think John's a little behind the times on this one in arguing that DT/CB as a separate position doesn't add much to leagues. We old-timers got used to the days when we had solo-assist-sack stat lines in USA Today and that was it. With the additional stats we have now and the ability to use a web program to run/calculate complicated scoring systems, the DT/CB addition can add more than ever before.I'm already itching to find ways to incorporate that into my established leagues but, for any number of logistical reasons, it's exceedingly difficult. Still, I'm greatly enjoying the one league I'm in (which Norton plays in as well) that uses the DT/CB addition. We'll look hard at making that standard in our FBG staff redraft league this year too.

We don't break out DT|CB in this league (probably never will as all 12 owners would never go for it) but we do go with the full 11 starters. To me going this deep really shows your stuff on how well you can draft those non-stud guys. As mentioned on the show, if you just start a couple at each position then everyone has studs, where's the fun? But if it matters who you have as your #6 LB or DB to effectively cover bye weeks and injuries, it reall becomes a lot of fun to manage a roster.

Stoopid iTunes... I can't get 201 or 301 on my iPod. I'll have to try to listen to these sometime soon, though - 401 was great.

This isn't the place to troubleshoot, but for some reason I can't load some things from iTunes to my iPod. I can listen to them on iTunes, but rarely get a chance to do so at home. The Audible is great for commuting and at work.
