See my sig for the 2007 Rookie Draft ADP Data. This is for 48 Zealots Classic leagues.

Zealots ADP:

2007 Rookie Draft 2007 Rookie Draft by Pos

Edit: I forgot to mention in the initial post that this spreadsheet data would not be possible without the initial design and document from Tick.

Hey Spec, you mind posting this in Aaron's pinned rookie thread so we can pin it without adding an extra thread above. I'd copy the post but I don't want to be mistakenly credited for your hard work. This thread stays for discussion but this info has value all summer long.

The dead guy and the FA's were probably filler picks for undrafted free agents not listed in the MFL data base.

Done. I posted a new entry at the bottom and then realised I could put it in my blackdot post (which I also did). I feel like I spammed the board with this now. :goodposting:

I find the ranking by position to be extremely helpful when I am trying to draft at a position. I can see the next 2-3 guys at that position. Works great.

Anything but spam. I routinely refer people to your sig during the summertime. Your spreadsheets are very much appreciated.Rather than bumping this thread every other day, it makes sense to pin it but we don't want the top of this forum too cluttered, especially with the subforum up there now taking up space. Thanks again.

Great info spec1alk :goodposting:

I hope this information can be maintained for study later on. You have 3 years of data now. This could be formed into very powerful analysis in about 3-4 more years as these players careers become more defined.

hi guys, great info but I have a question which has been bugging me but haven't asked ........ what exactly is "Zealots" My guess based on the references I have seen on this board is a league or combination of leagues.

Can someone flesh out what it is so that I can fully understand the value this type of data represents?

Thanks in advance

Zealots Field homepageThe website gives an excellent overview. It's essentially an ever-expanding group of leagues moderated by Oscar Knight etal to assure a field of knowledgeable, active and competitive owners. If you're ready to join a competitive league, this is the place to go.

My only issue with these leagues is that IDP values are a little too low -- you'll see maybe 1-2 IDP crack the top 50 overall each season -- and that's reflected in the ADP data provided by spec1alk.

Just one quick question

What numerical position do you assign players that are not selected in a league

When I do my ADP I assign 73, but I have never felt good about this.

Just curious what you use and why?

FYI, FBG's convention on their ranking pages is to use the next number after the total ranked, so 73 would be their choice. I've also always used 73, though when drafts are in progress, I tend to use the next available number... in other words, if 20 guys have been drafted, everyone else gets a 21.

I believe I took the max draft # + 1. The max draft number I think was 75, so I took 76 as the value assigned to players not drafted in a league.

I am a bit confused (semi-regular occurrence for me) but I thought the max players drafted in Zealots would be 72 (12 teams x 6 rounds) Are you using the missed draft picks as place holders? And are you using the web query to gather data? If so I think this could be misleading. Not as to final order but as to assigned numerical value to each player. I know this is getting a bit knick-picky and I don't mean it to come off that way. Compiling these ADP's is a lot of work and believe me much appreciated. Thanks for the hard work

No problem. I am using the XML query engine of MFL to get the draft results (http://football30.myfantasyleague.com/2007/export). Yes, there should only be 72 total draft picks in Zealots, but if an owner "times out" on his pick, it is moved to the end of the round. ie pick 4.03 times out, the pick is skipped and reported as "user timed out" or something along those lines. I insert a draft pick at 4.13 (end of the 4th round) for that owner. So now there will be a total of 73 draft picks, but 4.03 is empty. Does that make sense?

It does make sense but what I have been doing is moving each pick up one IE if pick 15 times out I move pick 16 to pick 15 this way I end up with 72 picks for each draft. Not really sure which method is "right" I was just looking at your ADP and could figure out how a player could be ranked lower then 73rd place.

I could do that but it is more work and it does not throw off the ADP enough to be worth it.
