Preseason Game: Patriots vs. Panthers (1 Viewer)

1) Maroneys debut

2) Brady's new weapons

3) Foster vs D-will

4) Zone blocking scheme's

5) Carr vs. Delhome

Probably one of the most anticipated preseason games in my mind (if there is one)

For anyone following the "Sammy Morris could steal goal line carries" story I talked about yesterday, that 4th and short with Morris while Maroney watched from the sidelines was AWFUL.

I'll believe it when I see him stealing goaline carries in the regular season.

If you are watching this game you have to be impressed w/ Maroney's vision. This guys is a stud in the making!
I was really impressed with the 6 yard gain on 2-6. No hole, thought he was doomed for a loss or no gain, and somehow slides through and looked like he fell for 6.

Ah but it's too late then... :jawdrop:J
Very true......I took the gamble....on Maroney and Portis......should be interesting to say the least.

Another nice 1st down for Morris, running over that LB to pick up the 1st.
Exactly. I don't think Maroney gets the first down there... J
Probably not, but he got a couple of other good ones...
Well, if the Patriots were worried about Maroney's shoulder I don't think they'd just keep giving him the rock. I feel much better about drafting Maroney, if he drops to me. My e-mail draft started 15 minutes ago. I was kind of debating Maroney, Henry, and Rudi. At least one will drop to me at 1.12.

I am trying to figure out if I should keep Maroney for $8 or Steve Smith for $ in a keeper league. Right now I am thinking Maroney is the way to go because the Panthers offense looks awful!

The Pats D is pretty good. Smith is an animal. He will get his one way of another.

Maroney looks real good...he can cut on dime. The stats won't show that he was getting hit real early on some of his early runs. The Pats O line has looked rocky in the rush game this preseason but seemed to have picked it up a notch since that fourth down play deep in their territory (which I believe BB did to challenge them).

That sound you hear is Maroney's ADP climbing.
Really? Because he looks healthy?J
I think thats why people were so unsure about him. He's on the best team, with one of the best o-lines. Whats not to like. People at the end of this years drafts are going to kill it! With the Rb tallent available and the WR's at the 3-4 turn...if you go that way.
Where do you think his ADP is going now?Ahead of Bush? Travis Henry?Rudi Johnson?Joe Addai?J

A couple of reasons1) BB confident enough to give him 14 carries in the first 21 minutes.2) His yardage totals are great against a top 10 defense3) He looks like he's matured a bit as a runnerI think you're going to see him creep up in WCOFF drafts...ahead of guys like Rudi and S. Smith.

1.09 ... I don't see him dropping to the second round anymore. It depends on the owner. Some people take more chances than others. There is more risk w/ Maroney, but there is also more reward potential.

Right...he was dropping to around #15 in WCOFF sats...he's a lock for #9/#8 right now IMHO.

Maroney does look very good. His vision is outstanding. And with that hair and build, he looks just like S-Jax. Panthers offense looking pretty rusty.
