49ers vs Bears (1 Viewer)

Grossman with another beautiful pass.... then a fumbled snap. He recovered but it looks like the problem continues.

When the SF DBs aren't slipping, falling down or holding the Bears receivers, the others on defense have mastered the "Swiss Cheese" scheme.

I thought after the embarrassment last year (41-10?) the Niners would show up with an axe to grind.

Apparently not.

did the announcer just say that Benson said he's 10 times the person and player that Jones is?
How are you listening to this? I would be very surprised if Ced would say that.
Benson was absolutely quoted as saying this at some point during the off-season
Ya Benson said that, after saying that Thomas Jones punched him. Proof is in the pudding windbag. Please keep the video recorders and microphones away from Cedric Benson Chicago beat reporters.

It is preseason still.....I doubt the Bears would put up 41 on them this year.

LOL... ya. sure it is. Then why have the Niners been so proud of their unblemished record and Alex Smith's play? It's preseason - it doesn't matter.

Are you worried about Benson? Or Grossmans fumble problem?

Sure I am. Wouldn't you be if you were a Bears fan?

Just making sure you objective  Berrian looks like he is going to take the next step this year :sadbanana:

Who's watching this game, and is Benson looking as bad as his #s would indicate?? 19 carries for 33 yards?? That is flat ugly. Then, he loses a yard on the goal line, comes out, and Adrian Peterson punches it in from 3 yards out?? How bad does Benson actually suck?

Im looking forward to seeing Alex Smith against the best D in the league
Then I Guess Harris (DT) is playing . . .
Ya...you're right ..... the others are scrubs
Just want to reiterate what Scientist mentioned, but the Bears defense is NOT the same without Harris. He is arguable the best player on the defense. He makes the rest of the defense better, as was evident in his absence at the end of the year last year.

Benson looks terrible. Slow, tentative and easy to bring down. I can't understand why anyone would characterize this as "pretty good."

And he's 19 for 33, that's not EVEN 2ypc.

If there wasn't enough reasons already in that last Benson thread, this should help you avoid Benson unless he falls pretty far.

Making me want to grab AP if anything.

is the Chicago line not playing tonite?

just wondering cause from the comments here it sounds like Cedric is sucking all by himself. :nerd:

He's a decent late round pick as like a #4 with upside. I don't know if he could carry the load for a season, but every time the Bears have given him touches, he's produced really well. The only problem is that he's also a special teams stud, and the Bears would probably be reluctant to use him much unless Benson really blows hard in the season.

Hey Niners fans, which converted first down was your favorite one from the first half?

D'oh... your team only had ONE first down, so I assume it's that one. :nerd:

Benson had little room to run. Two of his runs went for -4 and -5, he was hit in the backfield both times. That said, he also looked a bit less explosive than I would have liked. He did catch one ball (I think his catches per game will be 3-4, as Rex continues to learn to dump off and not force it deep), and has shown good hands IMHO this pre-season. If he stays healthy, this guy will average 25ish carries per game and will get 80%+ of the goalline work. I know people dislike him and want to see him fail, but all personal BS aside, with the Bears D and special teams, I find it hard to see him NOT finishing with 350+ carries and 1400+ yards and 12-15 TDs. 35-40 catches for another 250ish yards and 1-2 tuddies, too.

I know this is not a Besnon thread, but my thoughts...

It's pre-season. Like you told yourself last week.
When the Bears beat the Super Bowl Champion Colts?I look for two things in preseason games:A) No injuriesB) Better play execution than the prior week. The Bears starters achieved both again.

pretty bad...but, we Sharks already KNEW he was gonna suck this year...

He's as soft as Ron Dayne, and almost as slow...just a guy who can't get it done...3 yards and a cloud of dust..

Bears' RB Adrian Peterson starts by week 5.
