What a start for the Jets....Leon Washington lined up as a WR catches a pump fake from Pennington and takes it to the house untouched for a 79 yd TD on the first play from scrimmage!

 
If TJones goes out for any length of time, I'm not sure the Jets will miss a beat. All Leon Washington does is make plays whenever he is in the game.

They should make a potent 1-2 punch this season.

 
Giants put together a little drive, some runs from Jacobs, Eli spreading the ball around...but 3rd down completion to Mix comes up short of the 1st and then Tynes misses 40yard FG attempt wide right.

 
Giants D buckling down now....last 2 Jets series went 3 and out, ending with sacks of Pennington by Tuck and Umenyiora

It is just too hard to gather anything from preseason. Anyone with a minor injury is heald out. So I can't even get a good look at Jacobs cause there is NOBODY out there catching balls today for the gmen
 
Another mini-drive by the Giants into field goal range, but Tynes misses again, from 43 this time.

Not a good decision by Eli there, on 3rd and 2 throws to a competely covered Toomer...incomplete and punt, but perfectly covered and downed at the one by Tyree

 
Giants D manhandling the Jets now....stuffed them on 3 plays from the 1 (with a penalty thrown in)...Jets then commit a holding penalty on the punt from the endzone resulting in a safety...Giants awaiting the free kick.

Jets personnel update: Jacob Bender who got the start in place of the traded Pete Kendall has already been replaced.

Nice leaping grab for a first down by the other Steve Smith, followed up by another 15 yard completion to Toomer (who is seeing a lot of targets so far and looks good)

 
But then it sputters....2 incompletion and then they LOSE 5 yards on a completed screen pass!! This time however, Tynes hits from 40....it's now 6-5 Jets.

 
yeah....i'm waiting for the pitching change!

Giants march it in....made it look easy. Eli 4 of 5 and a couple of runs from Droughns, finishing off with a nice fade route to Anthony Mix (who caught 3 on the drive). Too comical...Mix is 6'5" and looked like he was covered by a midget on the play....very easy. Now we're at 12-6, still baseball territory!

Play selection anomaly: Eli has thrown 25 passes already

 
Thoughts on Mix?

seems like he made the team, by the cuts recently(Jennings, Thomas, Landon/London?)

 
Giants offensive starters are done, Anthony Wright in at QB, Droughns at RB....Jets first team D still in

I would say so...he's looked good tonight and during camp. On performance alone he might be #1 in the preseason, but obviously will drop behind Burress & Toomer when we go for real, but he's definitely earned a roster spot.
 
Yup....44 yards on 6 carries...that's what it was. Jets starting Oline was still in vs Giants 2nd string but still....

 
Wow....Jets just went 83 yards in 3 plays in 53 seconds...2 40 yard passes and a QB sneak TD by Clemens.
