The next game I hope Belichick sends someone to the sideline with a video camera that they don't actually use, but on which they've recorded a ####load of porn.
I recommend GM. :forestmail:The next game I hope Belichick sends someone to the sideline with a video camera that they don't actually use, but on which they've recorded a ####load of porn.
News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now THAT would be a message!Personally, I'd consider that harsher than the Pacman sentence!News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
Woah. That's harsh.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
I really think that would be way too much. But if the Patriots had lied to the commisioner along the way... "we will never do it again" or "we arent doing anything of the sort"... then maybe.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
7. Will this tarnish Brady's career/image? He was talking about a career in politics. It will be interesting to see what BB and Kraft and the players have to say about this (after a couple weeks of course, as the initial comments are likely to be "no comment"). Questions for discussion: 1. Will BB et.al. bring up the alleged procurement of taped Patriots playcalling by the Dolphins last year?2. How will Goodell address the perceived rampant cheating across the league as part of this pending ruling?3. Was Martha Stewart unfairly prosecuted?4. Who is the bigger villain: Barry Bonds or Bud Selig?5. What will the haters say if the Patriots run the table after the cameras are taken away?6. What will Patriots fans say if the Patriots go 7 and 9 after the cameras are taken away?
TWO #1s!!!HOLY MOLYIf this turns out to be true, then this is quite a statement.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
Not harsh in the least. Teams cannot be allowed to get away with that.Woah. That's harsh.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
Most importantly:8. Will they erase the Patriots' week 1 fantasy stats?7. Will this tarnish Brady's career/image? NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the New York Jets' coaches, league sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
NFL security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on the New England sidelines when it was suspected he was recording the Jets' defensive signals. Sources say the visual evidence confirmed the suspicion.
Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. The Patriots have been suspected in previous incidents.
The Patriots will be allowed an opportunity to present their case by Friday, sources said, most likely via the telephone.
The league also was reviewing a possible violation into the number of radio frequencies the Patriots were using during Sunday's game, sources said. The team did not have a satisfactory explanation when asked about possible irregularities in its communication setup during the game.
Goodell is expected to have a decision no later than Friday but that is not set in stone.
The league refused comment but did confirm Monday that they were reviewing a possible violation by the Patriots.

The Patriots would far sooner forfeit one game than two first round draft picks.FWIW, I don't really see how giving the Jets a W is fair to the other AFC teams vying for a wild card.I think a more fitting punishment is forfeit of the game played. Draft picks taken hurts them into the future. How is that appropriate?
that to me is more forfeiture worthy, and if they were stealing radio calls, where there should be some sort of honor, then they should absolutely forfeit that game. The sign stealing, I file under something for future reference, I can't see how they would have employed it during the game. You don't need video to do that, hire a code breaker, get him seats in the stands on the opposite 50 and a cell phone. Video tells me that was for future breakdown and analysis. But if you were picking radio calls, that would have directly affected that game, dramatically and throughout. I can only assume the severity will be linked to last years accustation and denial.interesting....http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3014677

From this point on, he will be forever labeled a cheater (rightfully so). There goes BB's image of a scheme genius. It's easy when you know what plays the other team is running.
F that. It's just punishment. The Patriots did this last year up in Green Bay, and has been rumored to have done this against several other clubs. Who knows how long they've been doing this.BB was the first to come out and comment on how big a win it was, considering his club was in a two game losing streak. Al Harris commented on how the Pats pretty much knew exactly what they were doing on many of their plays. It's ironic how Kerry Rhodes of the Jets made the same comment after Sunday's loss.Whether the taping helps them is one thing, but clearly the NFL felt the Pats broke the spirit of the rules. This is not a first offense, and in fact is a direct thumbing the nose at the league. Break the rules once, maybe, but being accused of it by several teams and getting caught red handed is ridiculous.Woah. That's harsh.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
I agree.Set a solid precedent: Suspend this hobo for four games without pay.
If they are proven guilty I think they should have to forfeit the win. One can only assume they knew the plays the D called and game planned accordingly.Stay classy New England![]()
I say that since they cheated, they should be forced to forfeit the win and also lose pick(s) in the future. This type of action is inexcusable. Unless it can be proven it was Bellichick (spelling?) acting alone, a suspension to him alone is not just.TWO #1s!!!HOLY MOLYIf this turns out to be true, then this is quite a statement.News is supposedly also on NFL Network.Rumors of two #1's being surrendered, but nothing solid so far.
I think you're misunderstanding him. He's quoting LT, who said in a press conf yesterday that it seems to him this is the attitude that the Patriots organization seems to display, from his perspective.Thats bull####.If you ain't cheeting you ain't trying.
