Game Thread W3 - Carolina v Atlanta (1 Viewer)

Morten Andersen attepomts a field goal. The holder (koenen) drops it, Morten has a half hearted kick that draws a penalty.

Harrington is looking like a Pro-Bowl QB against the Panthers today. I did not think it was possible.

The best WR in the league against the worst pass defense in the league, and we get...0 catches? One of the more absurd stats of our early season.

15 post with the game in the third quarter...What if they had a game and no one noiced?

Is Roddy White looking as good as hi number indicate? How is Norwood looking?

Pass interference -> Personal Foul -> Unsportsmanlike conduct? Looks like Mr. Hall has some issues.

DeAngelo Hall is pretty damn good!
Atlanta has the worst pass D in the league, and either way, Hall isn't very good. Smith should have torched this secondary. The Falcons had the worst secondary in the NFL last year too, but Smith missed one of the games and Delhomme missed the other, so he never got a chance to shine. Was expecting a big one today, but it doesn't seem like it will happen. Always time for Smith, though.

Hall's been playing pretty well this year, Smith has never had a good game against him either. The pass interference play was really the only mistake/blown coverage Hall's made.

Smith's been talking plenty of smack and dancing around like the queen he is, apparently he's out of the game right now though.

Smith with 0 receptions through three quarters. Wow.

For those who may be interested, only once in the last five seasons has Smith ever been held without a catch. The opponent? Atlanta in Week 16 last season.

Thats when Chris Weinke only the threw the ball 7 times.

Don't look at Steve Smith's 2006 to see how he's done against the Falcons; he missed one game with a hamstring injury and was shut out (he ran for negative yardage and was held without a catch) in the other. But when he's healthy, he's on: He had nine catches for 131 yards and a touchdown in a Week 17 meeting in 2005 against them in Atlanta and scored on them earlier in the year at home on a seven-catch, 65-yard day. Throw out 2006 and his injury-shortened 2004, and Smith has caught at least five passes in his last four against the Falcons.

2-9 ATL34 (10:08) D.Carr pass short left to S.Smith pushed ob at ATL 2...

Sweet!
