Muhsin Muhammad (1 Viewer)

I'm pretty sure he didn't die, but is he dead as a fantasy prospect? Griese doesn't have the big arm like Rex so maybe he'll favor Moose moreso than Berrian, who's got the dropsies this year.

Yea, I'm diggin deep, but it wouldn't be the first time Muhammad woke up and turned it on.

Anyone with some insight?

DROPSIES?He has 4 times the catches and 7 times the yards as Muhummed. He's the only receiver on the team with double digit receptions. He had 3 times the catches than anyone else on Sunday night.Having not watched any Bear games, how did you get this "impression"?BTW-- yes, dead is a good way to put it.

I read this about last weeks game: A wide-open Berrian dropped what might have been a 35-yard touchdown pass. And I've read similar comments the last few weeks. Haven't seen any Bears games. Maybe a homer could verify.

I was wondering the same thing. If he could find a QB that was not homerun happy all the time, can throw the ball where he could use his body/size, and give him a few extra targets, maybe? Then again, Griese has been working with the 3rd/4th...stringers and not the starters, so this would have to be a growing relationship. Also, Griese probably is not the guy that could do this either, so I am in a wait and see mode.

Muhammad is in fact dead and as a dead man has looked awful running routes and attempting to catch the ball, letting numerous balls go through his hands, Berrian on the flip side has been himself and the only reason people are saying hes got the dropsies this year is because everyone saw him drop a sure TD on a Nationally Televised game and all of a sudden they have formed an opinion on him based on seeing one game and one play. That is all...

A new QB can NOT be good for the guy who has been catching a bunch and COULD be good for theguy who has "disappeared." I like Muhammad this week.

Moose had problems with Grossman not looking his way and called him out last week. I think MM's poor results has been a combo of Muhammad ' s "lazy" route running (leading to some of Rex's INTs) , Rex locking on receivers (berrian) and Rex's poor accuracy. MM seems to have lost a step and is a possession receiver --that being said i expect his numbers to get better with griese who is more accurate and throws better to intermediate WRs. I would not expect his numbers to be in starter range (top 36 WRs)

 I think the switch to Griese will make Muhsin a viable WR3. At least I hope so as long as Andre Johnson is out.

Sorry, mates. I should have looked first. I just put up a new post on this topic.

In '06 Griese made 32 pass attempts, 3 to Muhsin for 0 receptions and 1 pick. I am discouraged enough to look elsewhere.

yes berrian has dropped a few balls this year, and most have seen the notable would-be touchdown from sunday night. but i wouldn't say he has the dropsies. he's actually been getting open, something muhs has completely forgotten how to do. look at the targets mush has received - not that many, and several of them have been picked off because rex was just forcing the ball in there. IMO, muhs is pretty worthless as a fantasy option but berrian should continue to do fine.
