Game Thread W4 - Houston V Atlanta (1 Viewer)

NFL Today reported that the Texans will have more TE's active today than Wideouts.

I think we're about to see a smash mouth Bronco football game.

Houston DST took a big hit today with no Mathis or JJones. Hopefully they put D. Anderson back there instead on D. Wynn. If Wynn is back there, there is 0 chance of a ST td. Look out for Anderson is he gets playing time speedy guy with good hands.

Did NASCAR bribe the local Charlotte station? Is nine years old to young to take my son to the sports bar? I may have to go Lhucks way and take an interest in women's professional bowling.

Why is Jenkins getting all the looks while White has been getting all the looks up until this game? Is the normal CB out for today?

People were certainly fooled into thinking White is now the #1 receiver on Atlanta. Hello Jenkins.
Not sure I'm ready to turn the title of #1 receiver to Jenkins. White has had 2-3 looks in the red zone and a few 10-15+ yard catches called back on penalties.

"ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Atlanta Falcons RB Jerious Norwood could see more time during the team's Week 4 game."

Seems like it's the same so far. Is he in the game a lot??

its as if houston wanted to lose this game. pathetic.

they dont even attempt to run it in from the 1 on a couple of occasions coupled with stupid fumbles by schaub. pathetic.

Dayne's been getting stuffed all day in short yardage. 3rd and 1 they tried running him but he got stuffed. Play didn't count b/c ATL called timeout. A couple other times in the game on 3rd down Dayne got stuffed as well.

The defense couldn't get off the field today on 3rd down, we couldn't convert short yardage, and Demarcus Faggins killed us in the 1st half.

Oh yeah, Gerry Austin is a POS ref. Bad calls both ways, lucky he didn't cost someone the game today...

I hope now people will shut up about the R. Dayne crap. he sux. for those who still want him to run please wish that for your own team. As long as I'm watching the Texans I dont want to see him carry the ball.

The game was lost when Kubiak kicked a FG down 10 at the Falcons' 1-yard line. The Texans' defense was horrible all game. There was no logical reason to think they were going to suddenly stop Atlanta's offense. Kubiak needed to go for the TD there and get as many points as he could. Pretty poor job of coaching by Kubiak today.

Why didn't Dayne get a shot to run it in??
He did....and proceeded to fumble the ball out of bounds.
im pretty sure the fumble got charged to schaub.schaub blew it. fumbling on his own 20, and blowing it on the goalline.dayne coulda done better on a couple 3rd and 1s, but blocking was more of an issue. he ran really well in the first half. but schaubs mishaps forced them out of the running game.-biz-

I hardly blame Schaub for the loss. Dayne could've handled that pitch, and he got blindsided on the other fumble. Schaub was the only reason we were in the game. We couldn't get off the field on 3rd down, sucked in short yardage, and Faggins was as bad as anyone you'll see playing CB in the first half. This was the type of game we'd get destroyed in years past b/c our QB would play just as badly as the rest of the team. Schaub really toughed it out while missing most of his WR crew and top RB. Our failure to get a defensive stop was our biggest Achilles' heel this game...

:goodposting: I said it from the beginning that Faggins is the reason we wont have great def instead we have to settle for above avg. Even those 2 PI 's called on him were BS.

just got back from the game. man, TERRIBLE playcalling by Kubiak. I'd honestly consider revoking his play-calling authority at this point.

Kicking a field goal on 4th and goal from the 1 with plenty of time remaining and down 10?

Later, down 10 again, with 4 minutes left in the game, they GO FOR IT on 4th and 1 from the 27 yard line. It was a two possession game no matter what, and they wasted 2 whole minutes to simply end up going for the field goal later and MISSING it. And, when they finally went for the field goal, that's exactly when they SHOULDN'T have and should have gone for the TD.

Absolutely terrible playcalling that cost them the game way more than Schaub's 4th Q fumbles.

Awful game for the Texans, Kube's has gotta be chewing out the team today as they gave this one away. I don't know how you can really blame the defense if the offense turns the ball over twice in your own red zone, turnovers cost them the game. Sure, the D could have played a lot better, they made Joey Harrington look all pro today, but turnovers resulting in a short field are just killer. Ron Dayne is awful by the way, particularily in short yardage, can't believe people didn't already know this.

Faggins got abused, but Fletcher was just as bad. Jenkins 2nd TD should have been a tackle short of the 1st and a 4th down, but Fletcher couldn't wrap him up and Jenkins bulled thru to the endzone.

One of the worst cases of officiating I've ever seen. The hold on Faggins, the 2nd PI, a couple of very ticky tack calls, some missed facemasks, the chop block called on Dunn... just awful, awful calls made and missed for both sides.

Congrats Atlanta, but this is one I can't help but be angry about.
