Game Thread W4 - Denver V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

Next play Young for almost 10 yards.....Indy better adjust their defense.

Henry back in,

I really like the fact that Denver uses Champ Bailey on its kickoff team. It's not like he's a gunner (which he played in college), Denver just uses him as a "last man to beat" type player, so the injury risk is pretty low... and there's just a sense of security that I get. He's already saved two kickoff return TDs, and I suspect he's not done yet this season.

Harrison's down.

Edit: he was blocking on a running play, and Addai and the Denver tackler (D.J. Williams) both rolled over him in the act of making the tackle. It looked like he got hit on the legs, but he was acting like it was his back giving him problems, so I have no idea what's up. Hopefully he just got shaken up.

BOOTLEG!

I love that play.

Edit: BOOTLEG AGAIN!

Did I mention that I love that play?

Colts are countering the TE set with a 4-4-3. I use that defense in Madden as a joke.
That needs to be named "Penny" defense. :goodposting:Can't believe Shanny called a draw on 3rd-and-9 and then kicked the field goal on 4th and 2. If you're going to call a draw on 3rd-and-9, then at least be prepared to go for it on 4th down, or else what's the point?Besides, even if you go for it and fail, Indy's starting with the ball on their 4 yard line.

And Bailey makes a potential TD-saving tackle on the next kickoff return.

In the interest of equal coverage, Addai has been looking really good today, too. Denver's run defense is a huge weakness, but Addai's showing great patience in letting his blocks develop.

Denver's passrush is looking the same as always today. Meaning: ineffective. Not quite as bad as last year, but they just aren't getting to Manning. I'm waiting for Dumervil to enter Beast Mode.

Edit: As I say that, Dumervil forces an incompletion. Come on Dumervil!

Dumervil gets nice pressure again, but someone forgets to cover Clark. TD Colts. I think that was Gold's responsibility. Either way, there is still a massive hole at LB and Safety for the Broncos right now.

This is why Denver should have gone for it on 4th-and-2. As soft as the middle of their defense is right now, they aren't going to get many stops in the red zone. They need TDs, not FGs.

Come on, I know the run is working for you, but you do realize you can still call some passes, right? I mean, at 22 rushes vs. 9 passes, you think they're going to start stacking 10 in the box yet?

They're reporting that Harrison has a bruised knee and is already in the locker room. The announcer says it's "very questionable" if he'll return.

3 straight runs with little time left, must be trying to run out the clock.. i would have liked to see them open it up and try to score, they will be lucky if the colts dont score now

Yeah, I wish they would have tried something there.

Ugh, the middle of this Denver defense is HORRIBLE.

Dumervil hits Manning as he throws, though. At least Elvis is finally making his presence known. We'll need him in the second half.

They were trying to score, the run was just ABUSING the Colts. Definitely were not going quietly into the locker rooms, I'd just like to see a little bit of creativity, since the Colts are selling out EVERYTHING to stop the run.

Denver's actually keeping Manning well contained so far. Despite the impressive comp%, he's only averaging a measly 8.25 yards per completion, and a huge chunk of that came from an Anthony Gonzalez catch-and-run where Denver apparently forgot to send its LBs and Safeties on the field. Secondary's playing well, and the D-Line would be making a bit more noise if the LBs weren't leaving the middle of the field wide open about 5-7 yards past the LoS.
