Marvin Harrison Thread (1 Viewer)

I am sure people will be ( including me ) wanting as much Marvin Info as it out there ! may as well start the one stop thread.

As far as I have heard He has a MCL sprain -- but also heard a knee buise , and even a thigh bruise.

anyone got Marvin Info Post it. I think its betetr having a thread like this then wading through the " injury thread " on a week where so many players went down

If it's an MCL sprain, that would put him in the Andre Johnson type situation which would mean he could miss several weeks. I had heard thigh bruis...he was moving around on the sidelines...I hope it's not the MCL Sprain

Didn't he come back in for a few series after the injury? If that's the case, one would assume it's not an MCL sprain... ???

someone explain what this means ?
Before they changed the icon schema related to messages, if you responded to a message, it would put black dot on the message showing you had responded to it. Essentially, people are marking the message so they can easily locate it should that be necessary.

Where did you hear MCL sprain? Got link.

FWIW from Rotoworld:

Marvin Harrison was having his lower left knee checked out by doctors on the sideline during the second quarter of Sunday's game. The Colts are calling the injury a bruise, but he missed considerable snaps.

Harrison continued to play through the injury at first, but then appeared to receive bad news from the medical staff and walked away with a disappointed look on his face. Aaron Moorehead has taken over at wideout for Indianapolis. Harrison's status for next week's game is uncertain. He had one catch for eight yards before leaving the Colts' Week 4 contest. Sep. 30 - 4:56 pm et

Hmmm..... I could be wrong, but I was thinking he just went back in the game to get a quick catch to keep his streak of consecutive games with a catch going and maybe see if he could work through the pain,he then grimaced after the catch, but I thought he could have come back if he would have been needed.

I'm not sure this is the official diagnosis: Yahoo fanatsy sports blurb

Three significant fantasy-related injuries for Indianapolis: Marvin Harrison was sidelined by a bruised knee, Bob Sanders left in the second half with wrist injury, and Joseph Addai hurt his shoulder in some unspecified way.
and Houston Chronicle article
Eight-time Pro Bowl receiver Marvin Harrison left in the second quarter with a bruised left knee, and outsider linebacker Rob Morris was carted off the field with a sprained left knee late in the first half.

With Marvin getting hurt a couple of weeks after I lost Andre Johnson for a bit, I'm EXTRA glad I pulled Dwight Clark from my initial lineup submission and put in Ben Watson.

That's awesome.

Wait, is this the venting thread?

I willl tell you this, I don't want to diagnos him, as Marv is one of the most durable, flexbile guys in NFL. But, his injury looked MUCH, MUCH worse than Andre Johnson's did

Damn after watching it it did look pretty bad ! :moneybag: :moneybag:

If he misses an extended period of time does this bump Anthony G.? Would he take over Marvins spot as the starter?
No - Aaron Moorehead would take his spot. Moorehead is an adequate outside receiver - Gonzalez is meant to play the slot. However, Manning would look to Wayne or Dallas Clark before Moorehead (which is what happened yesterday).

All, I was at the game and I honestly think #88 will be okay. He was testing it repeatedly on the sideline. At the time the colts were rolling on offense so no need to bring Marvin back in.

If I were to guess, I'd say he sits this week and rest it through the BYE week.

Hell, if he were seriously injured, what does that say about him coming back in and beating Bailey for the 9 yard catch? :wow:

Lost in the 80's tonight?

In years past, we could see an injury to Harrison having a negative impact on Wayne's numbers. I don't think this is the case any longer....especially with the emergence of D Clark.

:membersonlyjacket:Seriously though, IF Harrison misses a few games - what does everyone think in terms of the value of other Colt offensive players?

IMHO:

Manning = stays about the same

Wayne = down some - he get's the #1 corner now

Moorhead = obviously a bump but probably not a viable starting WR (WR4 most likely)

Gonzo = ?? IMO, the hardest one to peg. He's looked solid, but is still a rookie. He likely won't draw much defensive attention - could he put up Stokely-like number while Harrison is out?

Clark = up some - Manning has been finding him more and more (plus there's that commercial...)

Addai = up some - similar reason to Clark (but no commercial).

Some other food for thought:

I counted 4 times yesterday where Gonzo ran the wrong route. You could see Manning telling him about it after the play.

Dallas Clark and Manning are roommates. Don't underestimate this. Who was Manning;s last roommate? Brandon Stokley.

Clark was outside to block Bailey on those runs to the right that were so effective.

so no one has any info on this ? Anyone even know if Marvin is going for an MRI ? ?

I know a few years ago Marvin wouldn't let anyone look at his wrist becasue he didn't want to hear it was broken.

I would have expected to at least heard he wss having a MRI by now.

Well, a friend, and Harrison owner sent me this this afternoon. Have no idea where it's from....and it's really nothing much new....but I'll pass it on:Colts coach Tony Dungy said Monday that Marvin Harrison (bruised knee), Joseph Addai (bruised shoulder), Bob Sanders (bruised ribs), and Rob Morris (knee) all may miss practice time this week or the team's Week 5 game.
