You guys that have been here for a while have no doubt heard of Bongo. He hangs out on lots of different message boards, but his heart seems to lie with the Titans, and he posts frequently on titanscentral.net. He gets wind of things alot, and sometimes seems to just make things up. At any rate, his rumors sometimes end up being complete fantasy, and other times he has a real scoop (he said the Titans were interviewing Chow before Chow was ever rumored to be coming to Tennessee). Bongo is a doctor, and his "insider" info on medical stuff is generally more reliable than other info. Bottom line: it pays to pay attention to Bongo, but take everything he says with a HUGE grain of salt.

With that disclaimer out of the way, Bongo is saying that a guy in Denver has informed him that the team is concerned that Henry's injury could cost him the season. Apparently they have to wait for the swelling to go down beofre they can fully evaluate.

What does it all mean? Don't take this as gospel and drop Henry, or give up a king's ransom for Young. But if you have a roster spot and think you can pry away Young on the cheap, might be a good idea to do so.

Crap ..... young is sitting on the waiver wire, but i gotta drop a decent RB to get him so not sure if i should ... would really like to hear some definitive news on this

not to highjack, but just drop a kicker or D for now...its worth the risk

I'd rather this stay an unsubstantiated rumor for one more day...

He said it was an unreliable source...take it for what it's worth. Right now it's nothing as far as I'm concerned. I just picked up Young last night on the WW so I'm quite interested in this as well.

[hijack]i know right ... i would but its a deep league i have 1 kicker & Def right now as it is ... can't really drop them and go down to 0. thinkin of dropping kenny watson for him cause last i ready rudi was optimistic to play week 6 after the bye.[/hijack]

True or not, thanks for the heads up! :D

The Henry already drafted Young as a handcuff, so i doubt I'll be able to get him without giving up too much.

Even if it's not true, Henry is at least banged up, so will most likely be giving up carries, and Selvin Young has done very well when given the opportunity so far. He's worth a roster spot.

Interesting. I heard on the radio this morning (Dan Patrick Show or Jim Rome Show) that there was a rumor out of Denver that the Broncos were inquiring into Ricky Williams. This would make a whole lot more sense if Henry is actually injured.

ETA: I just googled Broncos and Williams and I see that a legalization of marijuana group is who is advocating for the Broncos to sign Ricky via billboard. Nothing to see here.

The league I have him in has only 5 RB spots and right now I have 3 out of 5 RB with a wk6 bye (Gore,Henry,K Jones) and F Taylor and S Morris as my bye wk replacements.Week 6 is a double header. And I was hoping that F Taylor could turn it around.I've been putting of grabbing Young until I had proof positive that Henry will be downgraded, but I had to pull the trigger just now.

Make sure you provide regular updates.

I wish I had a bit more space for Young at this point.

With Walker hurting and bye weeks...I could drop a D...but don't want to let the Packers or Bears D go.

Im not dropping Stover.

that leaves maybe Eli (have Kitna)...but Det bye week coming up and Eli gets Atlanta that game.

Norwood (who I just don't want to give up on yet)

And C-Buck (with more coming out on Westy...not so sure i want to do that)

This better not be a joke...

In another Henry thread, switz said he heard some info that said Henry could be out for at least four weeks. He said the source wasn't the most reliable but this is the second rumor independent of one another (as far as we know) that suggests the injury is not good. That's at least something to take into consideration perhaps.

From Rotoworld:

Travis Henry said he intially feared his season was over after injuring his ankle and knee in Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. He will undergo an MRI.

"I was worried," Henry said after the game. "I felt sharp pain in my knee, first. Then my knee and my ankle. But the X-ray came back negative." Henry reportedly had a noticeable limp afterwards, which isn't a good sign, but thinks he'll face the Chargers in Week 5. Watch his status during the week.

seriously...its just a bunch of pot smokers who are pushing for the Broncos to give Ricky a second chance...

this is the only quote/info out there right now

Why are folks convinced it would be Young? Cecil Sapp has looked pretty good in limited touches. Shanahan hasn't had any problem with turning to a fullback in the past...

Mainly because he's already stated Young is the backup, then proved it when Henry got hurt.

Young had 8 carries for 81 yards and 2 receptions for 19 yards against the Colts on Sunday. Sapp had 1 reception for 10.

Because Young is the #2 and has looked better than Sapp.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR, NOR DID I STAY @ A HOLIDAY INN LAST NIGHT!

Watching the DEN / Indy game on NFLN's replay last night (while deciding on SY for the WW ;o) I worked the DVR "slo mo" over and over on the play where Henry essentially buried his left knee in the turf (vertically if that makes sense) and then hopped up & tried to continue the run. I was curious b/c of the post earlier this week where it mentioned TWO MRI's for TH. He went out for a few plays then came back, and had another play in the 2nd half where he was dinged (limping noticably to the slidelines). Again, he returned.

TH runs hard and takes his share of punishment, but then most RBs do. The play w/ the left knee pounded in the ground just looked awkward to me. Like the rest of you, I watched A LOT of football over the years, and don't recall a play that looked like that. I'm not trying to create speculation about his injury status, only offering what I observed on the 'game tape'.

The fact that TH returned to the game both times *should* indicate he's going to be OK. But, we've all seen players look alright, only to have things flare up after the game. Now we have this "rumor" floating around - but for all we know it could be Walker or some other Bronco.

Worst case, I think Young is worthy of a roster spot - mainly b/c TH is continually getting dinged - and it might be just a matter of time.

x-ray > bongo
Perhaps bongo does not give radiation poisoning, but X-Rays and MRIs do, in truth, reveal two completely different types of injuries. IANAD (new one) but MRIs are for the muscles and ligaments and whatnot that X-Rays don't detect.

Didn't watch it again after the game, but I remember the play and the instant replay during the game. His knee hit the turf first straight on with his full weight behind it. At the very least it looked like it would have hurt like a mother, but the knee didn't bend to either side at all from what I can recall.
