First of all, take these all with a grain of salt.
Secondly, these are for educational purposes only.
Third - I think it is a major mistake to try and predict all games.
My ranking system is based on "Stars", which gauges how strongly I feel about each pick.
I mentioned last week that I didn't like it very much, and I should have taken my own advice. I went 2-6 on the stars, so I need to do better. Here goes:
*ONE STAR GAMES*
Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5) at Minnesota Vikings - (1 star)
McNabb almost got on track last week, except for that part about getting TDs instead of FGs. This game will be about getting TDs, and Westy and at least one receiver (sleeper - LJ Smith) should take care of that. I think Philly gets 3 TDs and also 2 FGs. Even ADP cannot keep pace with that. Eagles 30-20.
San Diego Chargers (-9) vs. Houston Texans - (1 star)
This is a pure emotional play. Yes SD is better. Yes LT2 is clicking. Whether it is Schaub or Sage or Parsley ounder center for Houston, The Chargers "win one for the community" and roll, 31-13.
**TWO STAR GAMES**
New England Patriots (-16.5) vs. Washington Redskins - (2 stars)
How long can this keep up? At least one more week. Pats 41-13, and I think 13 is generous.
***THREE STAR GAMES***
Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears (OVER 45) - (3 stars)
Does anyone remember the last time these two got together? Wasn't it a ton of points? (Yes it was, 37-27 Lions.) Sure many of them came late, but last time I checked they all count. Now Chicago has a better QB under center and Etroit still has no D. Add in KJ and I look for a lot of scoring. The only downside is that it isn't on turf or in a dome, but I still think Roy W, Calvin and Co. get rolling again. 31-27, and I don't care who wins.
Green Bay Packers (+3.5) at Denver Broncos - (3 stars)
Last I checked, Green Bay is 5-1 and is coming off of a bye. Denver is neither of those, and they eeked out a home win on Sunday night against a tough AFC foe. Green Bay is a prime candidate for a letdown, and with the possibilities of both no Travis Henry and Champ Bailey at less than 100%, I like Brett Favre to be Brett Favre. Green Bay 31, Denver 24.
of the Week - Green Bay
Enjoy.
