Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson (1 Viewer)

Matt Schaub is finally expected to be in form after being out for his hip injury then a concussion. Andre Johnson is said to have been able to start against Oakland but wasn't needed so he should be 100%.

Everyone remembers the beginning of this year where Andre Johnson was targeted by matt for 14 catches for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Now coming back in the first two matchups against struggling pass defenses (NO week 11 Cle week 12). Do we see a repeat of a spectacular start, or is the Steve McKinney injury and the faulty Texans O-line responsible for Matt Schaub getting the snot beat out of him?

With offensive targets like Kevin Walter, Andre' Davis, Owen Daniels and finally back in form Andre Johnson, do we see not only the chemistry of Schaub and Johnson but an excellent all around performance by QB Matt Scaub. Are any Schaub owners considering starting him tomorrow over their #1 QB?

 
Construx did a study that found that players that appear on the injury report actually score very, very marginally MORE fantasy points per game than they do when they don't appear on the injury report (although the advantage is so slight that it's essentially a push). Since that eye-opening revelation, whenever I have a player coming off of an injury, I do expect him to perform as well as if he wasn't injured at all. Now, whether Andre Johnson's season-opening pace is sustainable over anything other than the shortest of spans is up for debate, but I'm definitely expecting big things out of the duo.

:confused: should have a big game against a weak N.O. defense tomorrow7-145-2.LOL.thats my guess...
 
I don't have Schaub in any of my leagues, but I am starting WR Johnson(Hou) and I expect him to have a big game against a Saints pass defense that is still very poor.

 
I'm planning to start him over Bulger and Warner. I just think coming off 3 weeks rest and having basically everyone healthy that he will come out of the gate on fire. :porked:

I am going to assume largely this is because most players are fighting some sort of injury whether it is known or not. Anyway, this is support that you should start your best players/matchs-ups.

That is :crazy: talk... good luck w/ that.On a reated topic, does anyone have an opinion/guess about how Walter and A. Davis will be involved? If AJ resumes his spot, will Walter line up on the other side in 2 WR sets, with Davis only coming out in 3 WR looks? Or vice versa? There should continue to be decent opps for the other guy(s) depending on how they're used. Especially if D's roll coverage to AJ.

I think it's probably a combination of factors. First off, yeah, I suspect that most players are always dinged up, whether they're on the injury report or not. I also think that coaches wouldn't put a player on the field if he wasn't able to help out the team, so the fact that a player is playing means that he's healthy enough to produce at a high level. I bet that coaches also scale back a player's involvement to put them in the best position to succeed. Also, if a player misses time to injury, when he comes back he's going to have fresher legs, which is an advantage that is tough to overlook.

I'm pretty sure I read that he was not going to be 100%, but good enough to go. No link, but if someone wants to search Rotoworld....

He is 100%, could've played VS Oakland, then had a bye. He's NOT on the injusry report.....AGAIN HE'S 100%

how did that work out?
 
I know it's a much smaller sample (3 vs 10), but Johnson should be ahead of Moss in PPG as #1 among the WRs, PPR or no PPR.

I'm loving their matchup next week (at CLE), but the rest of the schedule is downright brutal:

at TEN

vs TB

vs DEN

at IND

vs JAX

Wouldn't want to be in a position to have to rely on AJ or Schaub in the playoffs.

why? Denver looks tough other than that I dont see how you could even bench AJ. AJ is a stud

Denver didn't look tough on Monday, as Vince Young put together the best passing game of his career. Their pass defense was unreal to start the season, but it's since regressed to firmly below average.

I never said bench him, you can't bench AJ. Just to temper your expectations a bit because the schedule is far from ideal
 
I've decided to start Schaub over Hass this week. This will probably be the only week I do it (definately). The matchup is better for schaub, and as goos as Hass looks in that shotgun he is coming off of an injury. There points were almost identical last week so I'm not too worried.

As long as we're being fair, playing through injury can be learned. Such as Brandon Marshall did after his pre-season injury.Edited to add: I think we are really talking about playing through pain/minor injury though. That's what I mean can be learned. I don't think anyone believes that a truly bad injury can be played through. Like a broken leg.
