Game Thread W11 - Tampa Bay V Atlanta (1 Viewer)

Roddy White drops a perfectly delivered pass from Leftwich. Dunn for a yard on 2d, then stopped well short of a first on a 3rd down screen. Game's off to a slow start.

Pittman grabs a slant for a first down, then fumbles almost immediately. ATL recovers. TB challenges the catch.

Edit: Fumble upheld.

Leftwich overthrows wide open Robinson down the left sideline. A sure TD. Two plays later, TB knocks ball out of Leftwich's hand, picked up by Barber and returned for a TD.

Leftwich avoids disaster, steps up and finds Dunn over the middle, then Dunn fumbles. TB recovers. Just like the earlier Pittman fumble. Both guys had the ball for just a fraction of a second before losing the handle. ATL challenges.

EDIT: Overturned. ATL keeps the ball.

Brian Kelly is one of the least intelligent football players I have ever seen...what a bonehead.

This looks like a high school game. Tell you what. The winner of the NFC South and NFC West play each other in a very special toilet bowl, and let the NFL teams play in the real playoffs.

I feel sick.

As usual...these refs are terrible.
It sure looked like Dunn put his second foot down before losing the handle. But what does it matter? ATL fumbles on the very next play. However, TB loses it on the fumble return after a lateral. ATL ball and a new set of downs. High comedy.

EDIT: Hold on. After taking the pitch from Brian Kelly, Cato June fell, hit the ground and fumbled. TB challenges. Replay shows June was tripped by Roddy White. So ball should stay with the Bucs. But refs don't reverse it. They say Kelly wasn't down!!! But it was June who was down. Bucs lose challenge and their final time out. Worst officiating ever!

Don't drag the Bucs down to the Falcons level...

The announcers are basically saying:

"Clearly the play should have gone one way...but we just aren't sure that the refs are competent enough to make the correct call."

They're doing a fine job on their own.
Your right. All those defensive plays they're making and that bomb for a TD look very similiar to what the Falcons are doing on the field. In fact, I think Leftwich and Garcia were separated at birth.

Yep, one good bomb, and Brian Kelly's defensive prowess. This the Colts and Pats combined in Bucs uniforms.

Everytime the Falcons put together a couple of good plays together, they kill the drive with a turnover, an overthrown or dropped pass, or a sack.

Winning a road division game 14-0...nothing but good.

No argument there.

What a TERRIBLE call by Petrino. Run to the outside on the Bucs? Hasn't he watched film?

Galloway is in...just got another catch.

All the energy is gone from the D. I'd be sick and tired of trying to make up for this offense's ineptitude too.

I'm trying really hard to be patient with Petrino, but it's wearing awfully thin.

Bucs pressure forces another turnover. Leftwich's snail-like delivery allows Gaines Adams to knock the ball out. Hovan corrals it for an INT. ATL has got to put in Harrington already (words I never thought I'd type).

EG with the big play...now with a pretty good day.

If the Bucs have the lead, Graham could be a real good #2 down the stretch, with that easy schedule.

Just got back from the game  HORRIBLE (laughable) officiating. Even the few Falcons fans in attendance agreed the calls were bad. I won't be able to speak for two days - what and ###-whooping. Was hoping for the shutout - gdb garbage time scores.

Georgia Dome = Decent food, great pre-game fun for the kids, great location, hot cheerleaders.
