Game Thread W12 - Oakland V Kansas City (1 Viewer)

Any defense in the NFL suffer due to its offense as much as the Chiefs? Maybe San Francisco?

They held, though, after Oakland gets a gift.

KC's extremely young offense looking great. The defense is young and very good.

Very optimistic about KC's future if it can fix the OL.

Not a good series by the Chiefs offense after its defense got them the ball in great field position.

Looking at the stats, Kolby looks great. Has he played as well as the stats indicate?

Also looking at the stats, Croyle looks terrible. Has he been as bad as the stats indicate?

I can't watch the game so I am curious about the thoughts from people who have been watching.

TIA

Better, because the holes haven't been frequent and/or huge. He's running very hard.

No. He hasn't been great, although two of his three completions were very nice throws, but more than a couple of his incompletions were throw-aways after great pressure from the Raiders, which there's been too much of for my liking. The interception wasn't really an awful, but suffice to say he needs to avoid doing it again and get better.

Another drive with decent field position for the Raiders as they take over at the 40-yard line.

Shame KC's players are dropping like flies. :lmao:

KC's defense finally breaks. Two drives with great field position after a joke of a first half in this regard and you knew it was coming.

Smith could have more points, he pulled himself during the second quarter after getting winded. RB signed from practice-squad came in and dropped a pass then fumbled out of bounds near redzone. A few penalties have hampered Smith as well, but all in all Smith is looking good against Oakland's pizzpoor run D.

Smith has been very patient at the line of scrimage allowing blockers to open things up before he makes a cut. Dropped a pass thrown his way though.

Kolby Smith 2 TDs!! Wow!

It goes from the Chiefs being inside the Raiders 15-yard line to the Raiders being in the Chiefs' endzone.

Not quite sure where KC's defense has gone. It has a couple guys on the sidelines but that's no excuse.

Why did the Chiefs just pass on a game-tying 40 yard FG attempt?
Their kicker has missed quite a few on the season including a 33-yard attempt in this game.Edwards would probably get criticized for whichever decision he made there. If they kick it and Rayner misses, it's, "oh, Herm, you're so conservative - don't you play to win the game?", etc.

The announcers in this game suk. Herm made a bone-headed decision all the way around on that 4th down play BUT, KC got hosed on the spot. Should have been a first down the the leg-catch.

I think were the ball was spotted was right on. It was not a first down.
I am not a fan of either team. I think Herm lost yet another game for one of his teams, he is not a good field general. HOWEVER, the WR had control of the ball (albiet between his legs) at the top of the 0 near the twenty. WR was tackled and pulled back a full yard. The ball was spotted a foot behind where the elbow came down. I reversed the DVR about six times and paused it (yes I was bored). In the end Edwards could have overcome the bad spot but he wasted two time outs and cost his team a game.
