Game Thread W13 - Jacksonville V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

Taylor did not look like a guy on the decline on that run. He looked like he was being controlled by some 12 year old on Xbox jukin left and right.

Once a play is challenged and the ref is reveiwing it, can he reveiw any element of the play that is normally reveiwable?

Or can he only reveiw what is challenged by the coach?

It looked to me like the ref blew the call on the catch, fumble, down by contract play. But there was some debate about Dungy challenging if he was down by contact before the fumble, but then the refs come back calling it no catch in the first place.

Yes. At least that was the explanation the announcers gave during the Thursday game. Of course half the announcers out there tend to be idiots, so take that for what it's worth.

you got that right. that had to be one of the most maddening games i've ever witnessed.for the most part the jags played outstanding. they obviously had a tough time stopping manning, but everybody has a tough time stopping manning.the jags offense was on fire.this game makes me want to vomit when i think about all the ways the result might've been different.i was watching the game at the bar (no sound). does anyone know how the colts possibly ended up with that fumble on the 11? i get that it was ruled a fumble, not an incomplete pass. but the every official on the field ruled that the jags recovered it. i assume dungy challenged the recovery, but i don't think i've ever seen a recovery at the bottom of a pile get overturned.i like JDR, but he needs to have his challenge rights revoked.i'm not sure i've ever seen a team go as quickly from 1st and goal at the 5 to being backed up past the 30 as fast as the jags were on sunday.

Even though the Jags lost, they are becoming a really good football team. Their D has been good for a while, but their offense is improving, even though they have mediocre at best WR's. JDR made a good decision to make Garrard his starting QB.

Raheem Brock had recovered it and was down, then the Jags knocked it loose again and got recovered it.... the replay clearly showed Brock with the ball and down

From what I saw, the Colt player recovered initially, and was on his knees with the ball clearly in his posession, and was touched by more than one Jaguar. I don't remember if a whistle was blown at that point (apparently not), but he then got up on his feet and tried to advance it. I think that was when Jacksonville got it away from him - the replays they showed generally stopped before he got on his feet though, as it looked pretty clear he was "down by contact" (ball + knee + touched)

Yea, that was a good call. The personal foul on Reggie Williams was kinda lame as Williams was thrown to the ground after the whistle and then gets the flag pushing the guy. But that seems to be the Colts plan against the Jags recently(June did it twice last season) and the Jags keep falling for it. The fumble/incomplete pass play sure looked like a mistake. But overall the zebras got more of the questionable calls right than wrong.
