Week 14 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

going up against Earnest Graham and Ryan Grant in the playoffs. F'n waiver wire. This guy's entire team is undrafted trash but he got waiver priority due to his poor record and squeaked into the playoffs.

 
FOX reports in pregame that Burress left the field and didn't look good. So I make a last minute switch, taking out Plaxico and putting in Henry. Naturally, Burress has over 100 yards and a TD while Henry has 16 yards. Add that to going with Favre instead of a healthy Garrard, and I cost myself a lot of points, possibly a playoff win.

Auuuugggghhh!

 
My g/f just came over and asked me what I'm thinking about. I said "I'm thinking about how I wish I had better quarterbacks." She says "I'll be your quarterback."

To my horrific realization I realized that I wouldn't be doing any worse if she were my qb. My qbs are Rivers and Young.

Come on. Just prove me wrong one more time.

Carson, has killed me this year. 1st pick after keepers and hasn't even come close to living up to his draft spot.

Can I "un-vent?" Still ticked about the Burress thing, but Fred Taylor's 80 yard TD and Favre's garbage time TD to Lee (both my players) probably saved my season. Lost 12 points on Burress, but I'm up 17 after the 1:00 games and I have the better players going in the late games.

And I benched S.Young because no on knew who was starting...

 
My season is over. I had no QB to start today (Bulger/Garcia) and I went against Brady. Looks like I will lose by less then 10 pts. What could have been.

 
Adrian Peterson- 0.3 points

Chad Johnson- 6 points

Terrell Owens- 2.1 points

Steve Smith (Car)- 4.4 points

Kevin Jones- on the bench with 22.2 points

I'm done.

yeah we did, Henry was starting...Shanahan is a freakin moron. yeah lets say one thing then do another, twice. Selvin is a better back, all you gotta do is give correct info. Thanks for costing me a playoff game mike..
 
I made some stupid decisions; Driver over Evans, Kolby over FWP, but each could gone the other way.

But ultimately it was ADP that lost it for me. He got me to the playoffs and then ended the playoff run.

Started Carson Palmer over Big Ben, Palmer got me 0.52 points

Started Dallas Defence over Tenn Defence, Dallas got me 1 point on the last play of the game pretty much

Couldn't risk starting Fitz or Cotchery and had to start C. Henry, Henry got me 1.6 points

Thank god for Grant, Graham and Marshall. Was looking forward to this week as I had many favorable matchups. Seriously considering starting Big Ben against the Ravens next week instead of going with Palmer against the SF, will have to look at the weather.

I played

Brady, Addai, Lendale White, Larry Fitz, Brandon Marshall, Andre Johnson - in one playoff

I played

Brady, FWP, Randy Moss, Bills D - in another playoff

I had Warner, Kevin Jones, Fred Taylor, Rudi Johnson, Lee Evans on the BENCH

while Terrell Owens, Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Adrian Peterson, MJD, Jon Kitna ended my season.

 
My offenseive team in my IDP dynasty contained the following high quality players who put up crappy games:

C. Palmer

A. Peterson

M. Jones-Drew

C. Johnson

N. Folk

Saving graces were:

J. Witten

J. Lewis

all of my IDP's

I'm up by 19 and have no one left while he has a LB (M. Boley) still to play that scored more than 19 pts in 7 out of the 12 weeks.

I have a 5 in 12 chance of winning (except they are playing the Saints who he scored 21 against last time, so it's probably worse than that).

Basically I have a 30% chance of winning thanks to a crappy week by not just a couple, but 5 of my key offensive starters. I have the best top to bottom roster in the league, but will likely be out in the first round of the playoffs.

 
Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson against the #19 pass defense.

Steven Jackson against the #23 run defense.

Clinton Portis against the #27 run defense.

Jeremy Shockey against the #18 pass defense.

ADRIAN PETERSON against the #26 run defense.

ZERO TDS.

Had the highest scoring team in my league. Went with:

QB Campbell (because I thought the Pack would protect Favre and run all day)

RB ADP

RB Fargas (gets injured and leaves)

RB Kolby Smith (played like he was injured)

WR S.Smith (no hope for this guy)

WR Colston

TE Gonzo (stared on fire and then did next to nothing until the last drive)

PK Bironas (a long FG in overtime would really have helped)

D/ST N.Y.Giants (benched the Pats as they've been slumping as of late)

On my bench I had:

QB Favre

RB Edge

RB Gore

RB Chester Taylor

WR Evans

WR Calvin Johnson

D/ST Pats

Yep, sucks to be my team. Unless Colston goes off tonight I'm done for. What a sh*tty year!

 
so my opponet played reggie williams n jerry porter at Wr, plus he throws in Jacksonville D just to make me miserable. Plus 3 td out of Addai sent me home with no chance tonite

I was #1 seed in my league this year and just bit the big one. I appreciate Jon Kitna, ADP, TO and Housh for sucking it big time this week. The crappy thing is that I had Trent Edwards, Deion Branch and the Bronco's D on my bench with a hunch I should have start all of them.

Oof!No vent...just lucky as hell that I advanced with a middle-of-the-road score vs. someone who had an off day from TO and unremarkable days from Big Ben and Shaun Alexander. He did have Brandon Marshall, so it's not like all of his guys had rough days.

Thanks to drafting that piece of crap maroney I'm going to be 9-5 and miss the playoffs. 4 teams make it in this 12 team league. One team is going to be 10-4, four of us are tied at 9-5. tie breaker is total points scored. I'm the lowest of the 4 by 20 points. Out of 14 weeks I'm going to wind up 20 pts short! :lmao:

C'mon, with Gates, TO, Chad, Wayne, and LT all on the same team the fantasy gods will inflict their wrath upon you from now until eternity. That's quite ridiculous and unbelievable.
 
OMFG!!! Roddy stopped his route on what would have been an EASY 57 YD TD! HE DIDN"T KNOW IT WAS COMING TO HIM... Give me a break! That would have won my game this week! Come on Roddy, make up for it you ####### :thumbup:

 
I had some poolmate congradulate me in victory yesterday as i was up by 40 points going into monday night.

Will Smith and Marques Colston end up getting 45 points.
