Mia pass D ranked #3Cle pass D ranked 3rd to last.I bashed him last week, left him on the bench and he went off. I want to start him this week but the 2 receptions doesnt give me the warm and fuzzies.
What about a marginal guy like Engram, Burleson, Curtis, Walker, Reggie Williams? Its no question that you would start a Braylon Edwards or CJ over Evans, but its difficult to decide wether to start him over the guys I mentioned, especially when you consider matchups.cartel said:I think the theme seems to be if you have stud WR they get started over Evans. If you have so-so WR you start Evans. I think think this is the way to roll
yeah, this is where I am ...throwing in a S. Smith who falls in there this year without Delhomme..What about a marginal guy like Engram, Burleson, Curtis, Walker, Reggie Williams? Its no question that you would start a Braylon Edwards or CJ over Evans, but its difficult to decide wether to start him over the guys I mentioned, especially when you consider matchups.cartel said:I think the theme seems to be if you have stud WR they get started over Evans. When in doubt, go with the talent. FWIW, I'm starting Evans over Walker, Randle El, Shockey and Scaife (flex); along with TO, Braylon, and Hines Ward. Hines vs. Evans would be a tough call. I've been very lucky with Evans recently, since week 7, I've started him in his top 5 games and benched him in his worse 3.What about a marginal guy like Engram, Burleson, Curtis, Walker, Reggie Williams? Its no question that you would start a Braylon Edwards or CJ over Evans, but its difficult to decide wether to start him over the guys I mentioned, especially when you consider matchups.cartel said:I think the theme seems to be if you have stud WR they get started over Evans. bumpI'll say the same thing I say every week: Lee Evans is too talented to see my bench. For a more substantial answer... Evans is currently ranked 27th in FBGs scoring, making him a solid WR3 at worst. He ranks 13th in fantasy points since week 4, and 9th since week 7. Is he boom or bust? Sure... but he's NINTH over the last 8 weeks. NINTH. How can you bench that?
Considering the same thing...they're both boom/bust guys...not a fun choice to have to make...I'm considering starting Anthony Gonzales over Evans at this point.
I have the same 3 WR but I only get to start two so Evans rides the bench (though I am considering him at this point.I'm pretty sure "Start Him With Confidence" has been the mantra.I'm rolling with him as my WR3 behind Fitz and AJohnson and am hoping for big things.
Well...solid #3 does not help me...I only play 2 WRs.I could flex him...but leaning towards a RB...while Stecker may not have the bigger upside as Evans has...he is more certain to get about 5 points at worst.Evans, at worst, could got on another 2-3 receptions for 20 yards kind of day.I'll say the same thing I say every week: Lee Evans is too talented to see my bench. For a more substantial answer... SSOG,I agree that Evans is too talented to bench. But its deadly wrong to consider the mean value (ppg) without considering the standard deviation. And I am pretty sure that Evans variance is top 10 too!!I'll say the same thing I say every week: Lee Evans is too talented to see my bench. For a more substantial answer... This is from the Weather Channel:Sunday: Mostly cloudy and windy with snow showers. Highs in the upper 20s and lows in the low 20sOf course, that could change a dozen times before then....Tough Decision I am having is choosing between starting the Peterson/Chester combo or Peterson/Evans. Probably gonna go Peterson/Evans but it worries me a little. I wonder how the weather will be in Cleveland on Sunday.
Actually, the Browns don't give up a lot of "big plays in the passing game," just a lot of medium plays. Also, minus their first two games of the season, they seem to have really limited the number of big plays they've given up to some of the better big play WR's (Moss, A. Johnson) in the league. It's the medium play WR's (Engram, Mason, Ward, Bry. Johnson) that have really burned the Browns.I"m rollin' with "Mr. December" as my #3 WR with Marques Colston and Wes Welker.
The Browns are subject to giving up big plays in the passing game, and that's right up Evans' alley.
I"ll say 7 catches, 120 yards and a TD.![]()
I think the question depends a little on whether you need consistency or whether you need the home-run to win your game. The guy I'm playing has some juicy matchups (Addai vs Oak), so I'm feeling like I may need the firepower a Lee Evans vs Cle matchup provides over the consistency a Winslow (no TE league) can bring.
just curious.... PPR league or not?I think the question depends a little on whether you need consistency or whether you need the home-run to win your game. The guy I'm playing has some juicy matchups (Addai vs Oak), so I'm feeling like I may need the firepower a Lee Evans vs Cle matchup provides over the consistency a Winslow (no TE league) can bring. So as it stands right now I'm going Evans over KW, A Gonz from IND, Curtis from Philly or Cotchery. Not sure that's the right move, but Evans vs Cle seems like a decent bet to me...
As a Bears fan I'm telling you that you will be sorry you played Berrian over Evans.Lee will see my bench today behind Housh, Welker, and Berrian. Bernard has been almost as frustrating as Evans, but at least he's playing on Monday night in a dome, so I'll have a second chance in my playoff game.I have an irrational hatred for Evans since I traded up in my draft to snag him instead of getting stuck with Randy Moss.
I have Welker, Braylon, Roddy, and Lee has my choices....so have been debating between Lee or Roddy.with Petrino bialing, Atl going with a rookie QB vs. a solid cover 2 defense with a decent secondary I was leaning towards Evans. The TB game is also scheduled for thunderstorms so if its raining I'll def go with Lee and just cross my fingers and hope for the best.Roddy vs. TB isn't going to have a big game. But he should at worst have a decent one..say 6 for 60 or 70 yards.Evans is either going to go boom or bust. But realistically...the difference between 2 for 30yrds and Roddy's 70 yards isn't that huge. I would say Evans is much more liekly to score a TD given CLE will focus on stopping the running game with Jackson and Lynch.TB will focus on stopping the passing game.I started Evans last week over Berrian and he got me thru the first round against the Brady Moss owner. I'm starting him again this week behind Wayne and Fitz, should be okay with that kind of back-up.
