Lets Tier: (1 Viewer)

As the baseball season approaches, I have begun to tier my players and think it would be a great thread if we could come up with a consensus. We are never going to get everyone to agree on every player but this could turn out to be a nice cheat sheet as we all get ready for our drafts. We will do one at every position. I will monitor it and add/drop as people see fit.

Links to other positions:

Catcher

1st Base

2nd Base

SS

OF

Starting Pitchers

Relief Pitchers

Consensus 3rd Base Tiers:

Tier 1:

Tier 2:

Tier 3:

Tier 4:

Tier 1: A Rod, Cabrera, Atkins

Tier 2: Wright, Chipper, A Ramierez, Braun, Upton, Figgins

Tier 3: Lowell, Zimmerman, Beltre, Gordon, Glaus

Tier 4: Blalock, Rolen, Chavez, Kouzmanoff

I personally think Tier 1 is A-Rod

Tier 2 is Braun, Cabrera, Wright, Upton (though if you can play him at 2B that's where he should go)

Tier 3 is everyone else Acer had in Tier 1 and 2 along with everyone in Tier 3 except Glaus.

Tier 4 would be Glaus and everyone else.

I also perdona;;y think Atkins is overrated, but that's me.

What do y'all think of the White Sox 3rd Basemen? I believe Crede and Fields could both put up top 5-10 numbers, but unless one gets traded, who knows? Do the Sox plan on moving Crede?

I love Alex Gordon this year. I know, I know, manager has him slotted at 7th in the order. That should last about 1 week. He is only going to be 24 when the season starts and has 1 year under his belt. I don't think he is going to be a 30 homer guy, but he could easily hit .280 20-25 homers 80-90 rbis next year. And he will give you 15 stolen bases as well, nice bonus for a 3rd baseman. This is the guy I am targeting in my auction. His stock will never be lower.

I hope you land him but I think his stock will be just as high as last year. Many will figure he broke out of it at the end of last year and I can see him going for 20-22 in an auction

I think Chad Tracy belongs in Tier 4.
I think you mean Mark Reynolds. Based on what I read on MLB.com, I think Tracy will be playing the corner spots and Reynolds starts.Tracy was primarily a third baseman in 2004 and 2006, but he played a good deal of first in 2005 and it is arguably his best position. If he's healthy, he could see time at both corners.

"Based on everybody being healthy again, it's difficult, yet, you can never have too many good players," Melvin said. "So, if we have to match up, we match up. We'll just see Tracy's situation when we get there. I would like to be able to use him at both [third and first]. Maybe on a particular right-hander, get him over at third base and give Mark the day off or whatever, we certainly would look at that. But, based on how he's feeling, hopefully he can play both positions."

Right now it sounds like if Crede is healthy, he is playing 3B. Don't really know if Fields move to the OF or they move him.
