2007 Giants: 10-6, division runner-up, #5 seed in NFC

Defeated 9-7 Buccaneers on road

Defeated 13-3 division rival Cowboys on road

Defeated 13-3 Packers on road

(Hypothetically) defeat 16-0 Patriots in SuperBowl (for the sake of argument let's assume it was a pretty close game, not a Giants blowout)

2005 Steelers: 11-5, division runner-up, #6 seed in AFC

Defeated 11-5 division rival Bengals on road

Defeated 14-2 Colts on road

Defeated 13-3 Broncos on road

Defeated 13-3 Seahawks in SuperBowl

I see that two Steelers fans have voted.
I wouldn't be so quick to assume that. IMO the 2 post-season runs are very close to each other. Beating the 16-0 Patriots would be obviously a lot more impressive than beating the 13-3 Seahawks (even though the Hawks were very good that year), but I think the Bengals, Colts, and Broncos were definitely tougher than the Bucs, Cowboys, and Packers. A solid argument can be made for either of these teams being more impressive.

Voted Steelers. At the time I didn't think the Steelers were going to win any one of those games and they ran the table. This year I thought the Giants were going to beat the Bucs and the Cowboys. Of course beating an undefeated Pats team is much more difficult that the Steelers taking out the Seahawks, but overall the Giants route to the Super bowl was much easier.

IMO it would be the biggest upset in SB history. How couldnt it be? The Steelers run was the best as of now but beating the only 18-0 team ever and maybe the best team ever. Its the best in the modern era without any question..BUT it wont happen and we know....

I went with the Steelers. Beating three upper-echelon AFC teams and a very good NFC team is better than beating two NFC teams that acted like they didn't even want to be there, catching Favre on a bad day, and then getting ridiculously lucky against one of the best teams of all time (which is the only way I can see the Giants possibly winning out).

Exactly. I think people are putting too much emphasis on the one game (SB) and not enough on the other 3 games.

I dunno... honestly i think i give it to the giants... not bc im a fan just how i feel... the cowboys this year were probably better then the 05 broncos... the packers were this year were probably better then the 05 seahawks... and if everybody remembers correctly they beat a carsonless bengals team....

If the GMEN win the Super Bowl! The Redskins will win the 08 season Super Bowl!

GMEN Super Bowl 86 Winner: Redskins 87 Winner

GMEN Super Bowl 91 Winner: Redskins 92 Winner

So Comeon GMEN!!!!

This is probably a pretty decent way to look at things, I guess... round by round.Wild Card round - Adv. SteelersEven though Carson got hurt in that game, he was still in for a quarter and a half. And Kitna had a lot of success running that offense in the past, so it's not like they were facing... I dunno... a hobbled Jeff Garcia.Divisional round - Adv. SteelersThat Broncos team might have been good enough to go on and win the Super Bowl that year if they hadn't been caught off-guard by the Steelers. Remember, they had just clobbered the Patriots the previous week and the Chargers the week before that. They had the third highest scoring differential in the league that year, especially impressive when you consider that all but four of their games were against the vastly superior AFC. They were also second in takeaway/giveaway differential.Conference round - Adv. SteelersI think it would be very difficult to argue that this year's Packers were better than the Colts from two years ago. Come on, pretty much the exact same team actually did win the Super Bowl the next year.Super Bowl - Adv. GiantsFirst off, we have to assume that the Giants will win this, which I find hard to believe. We also have no idea how they will beat them if they did. However they did it, I can't imagine anyone saying beating the Patriots was easier than beating the '05 Seahawks. The question is whether or not the difference between the '07 Patriots and the '05 Hawks is greater than the difference between the '05 Bengals/Broncos/Colts and the '07 Bucs/Boys/Packers.You could also ask yourself: In any given year in recent memory, would you rather play the NFC's #4, #1, and #2 and the AFC's #1 or the AFC's #3, 2, and 1 and the NFC's #1?
