The scoring is standard FBG with zero ppr. Birthday and previous year's finishes in 05-06-07 are provided for each player. Please provide comments on players that should be added with votes for Other.

These may need to run two or three days due to my schedule. If it starts to slide off the first page, please bump it back for me.

I like how you included recent rankings. Where did you get them from?

Or is that even what it is? How was Gates not #1 in 06 and 05?

Ratings were taken from FBG Player Pages and used FBG scoring. Gates was a typo, he should have been 1-1-2. Will try to edit. Thanks for pointing that out.

Its Gates handily thus far with 25 votes to 8 for Witten and 2 for Winslow. Just checking the stats for Gates over the past three seasons, when he finished 1st, 1st, and 2nd in 07. Did you know that his targets have dropped in each of these seasons? He had 140 targets in 2005 in only 15 games for an average of 9.4 per game. In 2006, he had 119 targets, but this was in 17 games for an average of 7.0 per game. This year the targets dropped again to 117, but over 19 games, an average of 6.2 per game.

With the addition of Chambers and the late season improvement of V Jackson, will this decrease continue?

The target total in 2007 is actually for just 16 games so he has remained the same the past 2 years. However, his targets did go from 9 per game through the first 6 games (without Chambers) to around 6 per game after that. I'm surprised more people wouldn't put Witten on top. His targets aren't likely to decrease.

not surprised that Gonzalez (too old) and Cooley ( just not good enough) don't have any votes.

they might belong in a 2nd tier with Shockey, Clark and V. Davis (if he continues to progress).

good point, San Diego has gone from a team with only a RB and a TE to one with 2 legit WRs, and a few other WR who will get catches - Davis, Manuman, and Naanee are all better depth. They're among the best offenses west of the Mississippi, so I think Gates will still get a fair amount of receptions and TDs. Still, if he wasn't that much more talented a receiver than the other TEs, I wouldn't have voted him #1. Witten is close, but not that close as just a receiver (better all-around TE though)

I have Witten #1 because it is a far more pass-oriented team than SD is, and Romo is better than Rivers by a substantial margin. The Cowboys also only have 1 other real target (TO) who will suck up the double coverages, whereas Gates is the primary target, which will leave VJax and Chambers open more often in 08.

I have Chambers and VJax as solid WR3s, and I have Witten and Kellen Winslow ahead of Antonio Gates for 2008 production

Clark should probably be mentioned as well, he did score 11TD's this year.
Dallas Clark did finish 5th this year, but he had finished 13th and 15th in the two previous years and I expected that the big jump was at least partially due to the lack of Marvin. I would further expect that Indianapolis brings A Gonzalez along more if Marvin does not return. Regardless, I did not see him being considered as the top Dynasty TE. If others mention him prior to the end of the TE #1 poll, he could be added when looking at TE #2.

I voted Witten as well. Gates seems to be getting a little soft too. With TO one year older and not quite as reliable hands as in the past, I think Witten has become Romo's go to guy.

I went with Gates on this one. I like Witten and Winslow alot, but they both have competition for catches. But it's pretty close for me between the 3.
