absolutely no discussion here AND not nearly enough voting. Is the drop-off from six to seven that severe or what?

IMO, after the first 4, there's a decent drop off, but these just aren't "sexy" picks, few people care all that much about the lower TE1's. Which might be reason to take Gonzo here, you can always get another TE after he's retired. That said, I like Heap, but went with Daniels again. Can't argue against taking Heap though. :lmao:

01 TE 35

02 TE 1

03 TE 3

04 TE 23 played in only 6 games

05 TE 3

06 TE 4

07 TE 38

He will turn 28 in 2 weeks.

Basically if he plays 16 games he is a top 5 TE.

He will very undervalued coming int 08, and wouldn't shock me to see him at the top of the TE ranks again.

Throw in cam Cameron as O coordinator :goodposting:

Do you not think that Daniels' success was in part due to Andre Johnson's absence? My opinion is that we probably just saw a season closer to Daniels' ceiling rather than one that indicates a long-term potential for elite status. He's a fine tight end, but there are at least 3 guys I have above him here.Don't get me wrong, I bought hard on this guy based simply on Schaub's love for his TEs at Virginia, but its becoming apparent that it was that Miller was just his best receiver, not because he favored the TE. This past year I saw a talented player live up to his potential. Very little about his performance made me think that he's a lock to significantly increase receptions or scores. He seems to me to be a low top 10 TE in his best years, but Heap, Shockey, Gonzo can make the jump into Top 5 status.

I agree with this completely. good arguements can be made for Heap and Gonzo. That being said I went with Miller. He's young and consistantly getting better on an offense that IMO seems to be getting away from the run a little, especially in the red zone.

This past season Heap was injured, prior to that he was TE 4 and TE 2 in the previous two seasons. Heap is only 28. He is worth the gamble here, because if he plays a full season in which he did 2 of the last 3 years he is basically a lock to finish as a top 5 TE. It should be Heap here.
