Positives, Negatives on three second tier potential 'bell cow' (1 Viewer)

Those of us that don't have picks 1.01-1.03 have a dilemna. Do we chose a second tier guy who runs primarily outside the tackles - a more explosive non-traditional type RB who probably will be a change of pace guy - or do we put or money on the second tier 'hit the hole' type guys, who might be suited to be a workhorse back. IMO, a potential workhorse is a safer pick for fantasy than the 3 'outside the tackle' kick return type guys.

Three workhorse guys who I am highest on are Rice, Smith, and Forte. While there are obvious differences in their build, all seem to be designed to carry the load, have the power, determination and the speed to have been very productive in college, and their skills seem to translate well to the next level.

Rice - tenacious, built low-to-the-ground. I have seen very little on him.

Smith - super productive. The tallest of the three.

Forte - I've seen his highlight reel stuff and was very impressed. Ideal Rb size.

I am NOT skilled at RB evaluation, but I'm thinking that one of these guys will turn into a stud at the next level. Which one do you believe it will it be? And what do you see in him that u don't see in the others? How big really is the talent drop-off here from the 'big 3 RBs in your opinion. Would some of you guys who are/consider yourself skilled at 'breaking down the tape' share your in-depth comparisons of these guys?

Was going to say Thanks. But you wiped out what you said about liking my post. :lmao:

Good post.

How would you rank the 4-8 or so Rb's?

When I get time I'll answer what I think.

But as you see, guys on here love to rip me.

So understand you removing what you first wrote about my post.

Unlike ConstruxBoy, I don't mind you using 'Positives, Negatives' on Rb's.

Again good job. :goodposting:

You are mistaken, i credited you in a similar post I started about the 'outside the tackles' runners. I saw no need to be redundent. FWIW, I like reading your points of view, along with the others.

I'm a big fan of Rice myself. Tenacious is a great word for him. I'm just starting a BDTT article on him. I also like that he competed in a BCS conference. Level of competition can be overrated, but I think when comparing these three guys, you need to give Rice an advantage in that category.
