They were down at the Disney deal where all the NFL players go for a week and they mentioned Moss to Donny Mac and said that McNabb lit up with the biggest smile they had ever seen and that all he would say is that he couldn't comment about it.
Do ya think that the Eagles are going to offer up the $20+ million guaranteed that he wants? I think it would make them legit contenders if they did... -------------------- |

20mil garunteed for a virtually 2 year contract would be interesting

This will be a very tough contract to negotiate. It will almost have to be all up front if he wants more than 2 years. Basically make it cheap for the team to keep the guy in years 3 and 4. If it's back loaded they can't offer a huge signing bonus because they will have to cut him before the final couple of years and then eat the remainder of the bonus.

They couldn't handle TO...why Moss? excellent question. hopefully the Phi FO has learned from their mistakes, i.e. trying to bully a prima donna WR. Though I think Moss is a bit different from TO, both have their own issues and neither is NOT a prima donna And we have also seen Moss play a season without blowing a gasket. It took TO getting run out of two cities for that to happen. And who knows how long this will last with either player, but at least Moss played a season without opening his mouth before they were to go after him rather than TO... -------------------- |

Being a Dallas fan I either want him on Dallas or a AFC team. Keep him outa the NFC period cause where ever he goes in the NFC that team is the favorite of the playoff contenders. It would be sweet if the Pats lost him though. Biggest goof move of the offseason!
-------------------- Felix Jones and Martellus Bennett WILL make everyone forget that TO is no longer playing in Dallas!!!

Not sure how that kind of move would be feasible. The Birds have to re-work Westbrook's contract, give Trent Cole a big raise among other things. Just don't see them having the cap flexibility to front-load all that money for another free agent.

Though I think Moss is a bit different from TO, both have their own issues and neither is NOT a prima donna I'd take Moss over TO in a heartbeat. They aren't the same type of person or locker presence AT ALL. TO is a media hog on top of a prima donna / give me the ball kind of guy. Moss doesn't hog the camera - he just wants the ball and to show how much he can do with it. Moss is a better team guy by a mile. -------------------- Why Subscribe to Footballguys? They couldn't handle TO...why Moss? Because TO is a basket case. Moss just has gotten a bad rap over the years. You would be a bum if you were in oakland too c'mon now. He's still a professional and getting paid A LOT to do a job. This year was the only time he hasn't taken plays off. He's a tremendous talent but the rap is well deserved. |

But why did the guy become a cancer? Uh, because they wouldn't redo his deal. It all started about this time. He had Rosenhaus meet with Banner/Reid to talk about re-doing the deal. It didn't happen so he went ape ####. EDIT: He wasn't a lockerroom cancer in 2004. It all happened as a result of not getting a new deal. They couldn't handle TO...why Moss? excellent question. hopefully the Phi FO has learned from their mistakes, i.e. trying to bully a prima donna WR. Says the diehard Eaglesfan...c'mon Jeff, isn't that view slanted a bit? Everywhere TO ends up good things happen, like going to the playoffs or deep into the playoffs. I like Moss enough but I also think those 23 TDs he scored last season are sort of skewing the mindset. This guy was a bum in Oakland according to this board...I'm just saying. One thing in TO's favor is that he always gives 100% on the field. Moss hasn't at times. But I agree with Jeff's comments otherwise. I agree with this...as much as I hate how things went down in Philly with TO, he ALWAYS plays hard. Moss is exactly the opposite, he's freely admitted to slacking on plays when he feels out of sync, and we saw what an unhappy Moss looks like on the field in Oakland. |
