They were down at the Disney deal where all the NFL players go for a week and they mentioned Moss to Donny Mac and said that McNabb lit up with the biggest smile they had ever seen and that all he would say is that he couldn't comment about it.

Do ya think that the Eagles are going to offer up the $20+ million guaranteed that he wants?

I think it would make them legit contenders if they did...

This will be a very tough contract to negotiate. It will almost have to be all up front if he wants more than 2 years. Basically make it cheap for the team to keep the guy in years 3 and 4. If it's back loaded they can't offer a huge signing bonus because they will have to cut him before the final couple of years and then eat the remainder of the bonus.

excellent question. hopefully the Phi FO has learned from their mistakes, i.e. trying to bully a prima donna WR. Though I think Moss is a bit different from TO, both have their own issues and neither is NOT a prima donna

And we have also seen Moss play a season without blowing a gasket. It took TO getting run out of two cities for that to happen. And who knows how long this will last with either player, but at least Moss played a season without opening his mouth before they were to go after him rather than TO...

Not an excellent question imo. The two players are very very different individuals. Moss has a tendency to sulk and whine but does not look to become an outwardly disruptive force with a complete "look at me look at me let me throw my teamates under the bus while you look at me" attitude.

Maybe Moss can scoop up those bounce passes from McNabb better. Not that they count as a catch anyway but....

Yes, Moss has a reputation, but he not nearly as bad as TO. Vikings fan here, and I wish he was still here.

Being a Dallas fan I either want him on Dallas or a AFC team. Keep him outa the NFC period cause where ever he goes in the NFC that team is the favorite of the playoff contenders. It would be sweet if the Pats lost him though. Biggest goof move of the offseason!

Not sure how that kind of move would be feasible. The Birds have to re-work Westbrook's contract, give Trent Cole a big raise among other things. Just don't see them having the cap flexibility to front-load all that money for another free agent.

I'd take Moss over TO in a heartbeat. They aren't the same type of person or locker presence AT ALL.

TO is a media hog on top of a prima donna / give me the ball kind of guy.

Moss doesn't hog the camera - he just wants the ball and to show how much he can do with it.

Moss is a better team guy by a mile.

They just re-did Cole's contract in 2006. He's signed until 2013.

They aren't gonna give Westbrook a big raise, he's already making close to 5 mil per year.

Everywhere TO ends up good things happen, like going to the playoffs or deep into the playoffs. I like Moss enough but I also think those 23 TDs he scored last season are sort of skewing the mindset. This guy was a bum in Oakland according to this board...I'm just saying.

Both want new deals, both have outplayed their current contracts. It would be silly (although not out of character) for the Eagles not to take care of two of their own. I doubt either gets a deal done this offseason, but you can be sure they will be public in their desire for bigger deals; and the onus will (hopefully) be on Lurie/Reid and Banner to pay up by this time next year.

One thing in TO's favor is that he always gives 100% on the field. Moss hasn't at times. But I agree with Jeff's comments otherwise.

Slanted? Really? I don't think so.

There's no question that Randy Moss needs more motivation than TO, but a Super Bowl ring opportunity is a good motivator.

c'mon now. He's still a professional and getting paid A LOT to do a job. This year was the only time he hasn't taken plays off. He's a tremendous talent but the rap is well deserved.

Who wasn't a bum in Oakland for those 2 years?

Not sure how that kind of move would be feasible. The Birds have to re-work Westbrook's contract, give Trent Cole a big raise among other things. Just don't see them having the cap flexibility to front-load all that money for another free agent.

They just re-did Cole's contract in 2006. He's signed until 2013.

They aren't gonna give Westbrook a big raise, he's already making close to 5 mil per year.

That's not the Eagles modus operandi. If it was, the Eagles would have re-done TO's deal and they would re-do Lito's deal. They didn't and they won't.

What will happen is either the Eagles will either out-right release the player or trade them and bring in someone else to do the job.

Uh, where were you during that media circus. The guy got benched. They were not going to even reconsider redoing his deal. They just wanted him gone because he was a cancer. You new to following the NFL because he was front page news 4 days a week for about 4 months once the Eagles benched him....

You are talking about the end result of what happened. But why did the guy become a cancer? Uh, because they wouldn't redo his deal.

It all started about this time. He had Rosenhaus meet with Banner/Reid to talk about re-doing the deal. It didn't happen so he went ape ####.

EDIT: He wasn't a lockerroom cancer in 2004. It all happened as a result of not getting a new deal.

They couldn't handle TO...why Moss?

excellent question. hopefully the Phi FO has learned from their mistakes, i.e. trying to bully a prima donna WR. Though I think Moss is a bit different from TO, both have their own issues and neither is NOT a prima donna

Says the diehard Eaglesfan...c'mon Jeff, isn't that view slanted a bit?

Everywhere TO ends up good things happen, like going to the playoffs or deep into the playoffs. I like Moss enough but I also think those 23 TDs he scored last season are sort of skewing the mindset. This guy was a bum in Oakland according to this board...I'm just saying.

I don't think anyone is saying that Moss is the epitome of a good teamate in good times and bad.

Yes, he was a BUM - but there is a difference between someone who will mail it in on a bad team and someone that will actively work to disrupt a good team.

One thing in TO's favor is that he always gives 100% on the field. Moss hasn't at times. But I agree with Jeff's comments otherwise.

I agree with this...as much as I hate how things went down in Philly with TO, he ALWAYS plays hard. Moss is exactly the opposite, he's freely admitted to slacking on plays when he feels out of sync, and we saw what an unhappy Moss looks like on the field in Oakland.
