Can anyone unseat the top 3 RB's in the rookie draft? (1 Viewer)

If your of the opinion the top 3 RB's off the board in most rookie drafts will be

Mendenhall

Stewart

Mcfadden

Not including an injury

What would have to happen to have someone else take a spot in the top 3?

Felix or Rice to Denver?

Anything?

Rice to Houston would be the best case scenario for a #4 IMO. I don't see any reason to unseat the top 3 unless one is drafted into a terrible situation.

Any back that is drafted on day #1 and goes to the Broncos will be a top 3 rookie pick, just based upon how successful the Denver running attack has been over the years. If the Broncos take a back in round #1, I would not be the least bit shocked if that player was the #1 overall rookie pick in most drafts.

Mendenhall to Chicago

Wow, so that would make you drop them out of the top 3?I am surprised only because I think those are 2 very good possibilities of becoming a reality.
maybe if say Rice is in Denver or Johnson lands in a good spot too.usually when everyone agrees something is cut & dry it ends up kinda wet

Mendenhall to Chicago :goodposting:
No.

By this I mean Mendenhall, McFadden, or Stewart going to a team with a established young stud RB. It won't happen, but that's the only way I bump them down.

Not unless you're talking about a 3-PPR league

Houston is using basically the same system. And there is no good competition there. Denver still has Henry under contract and Shanny like Selvin. No chance Rice or anyone outside the Big 3 deserves to go 1.1 in a Rookie draft.1.3 is being kind.

Probably wouldn't drop them from the top 3, but you were only looking for examples of bad situations.Mendenhall might have value down the road in Chicago, but I wouldn't expect much from him this season if he ends up there.

If the Broncos take one with their 1st pick, it'd probably be one of the big 3. If it's someone in the 2nd or 3rd, rice or whoever, they'd still have to battle Henry and Young so I wouldn't see them top 3. The only way I'd see it is if one of the big three get picked in a situation where they would be a back-up for a year or two and someone that has urgent RB needs waits until the second or third to address it. Picture Mendenhall selected by San Diego or Arizona in the first and someone like Rice getting selected by Seattle or Houston in the second...

Well I say YES.Stewart should not be drafted in the top 3.

It certainly would be a different story if we were talking redraft here.OP, are you referring to Dynasty?

Guys help me help 'The Scientist' be a better fantasy player. He really needs to know that Stewart is not going to amount to much in the NFL. 'The Scientist' using the ignore for me will only lead to Him finishing last in His Leagues.Which is not good, unless of course your in His League.Back to topic.I say Rice,F.Jones and Kelly will all go before Stewart in rook draft this year.

No back, no matter where they are drafted goes ahead of the top 3 in rookie dynasty drafts. There may be a fluke here or there but on average the ADP for rookies means Rice/Johnson/Jones etc are all vying for 4th on down.

So do you think the top 3(So called) are a lock?If not, who's out?

Who's In?

Why? With Travis Henry there it's a RBBC at best if they take a RB in the first round. And then you would probably still need the 3rd RB to make sure you had all the Denver Backs that will play significant time this year.ETA when was the last time a Denver RB finished top 5? Top 10? When was the last time the STARTER of game 1 finished top 5? Top 10?

I don't know if they will, but they shouldn't. Those 3 are all pretty high up in my opinion and I really like Rice. But even Rice in a perfect situation shouldn't push him to 3rd unless one of the top 3 screws up someway.

New Orleans - looking for a power back to compliment Reggie Bush

Miami - Competing with Ronnie Brown

Patriots - Competing with Maroney (makes no sense, but I've seen stranger things happen)

Cincinnati - Competing with Rudi and others

Pittsburgh - Competing with FWP

Giants - In the cluster mix with those? Who'd want any part of that?

Carolina - Looking for a back to compliment DWill

Bucs - Possibly not sold on Graham?

If Mendenhall or Stewart land in any of the 8 teams above, I'd say there's a GREAT shot that Rice or Jones gets drafted ahead of them, especially when teams like Seattle, Houston, NYJ, Arizona, Oakland and Cleveland need new fresh legs to come in and get the job done.
