ETA: will be out of town the rest of the week, so this will be up until Friday evening. Will run these through about WR36, which should get us to about a month predraft. Probably will run them again starting a week or 2 after the draft (once that and most of FA are completed).

Went with Driver here. I just can't project Gonzo to take Marvin Harrison's spot until he actually retires, which could be 2-3 years from now. Just because the guy got injured this year doesn't mean he's finished, and with 13 games played last year, Gonzo's numbers were on par with James Jones. (That's with Harrison Hurt.)

What I see is Driver having a down year in TDs. Good chance he bounces back in that department and puts up 1100/7 next season. It could be three years before you get that out of Gonzalez. Manning will be 34 then as well. Too much emphasis on youth and situation for me.

Look at Drivers' numbers:

2007: 82/1048/2

2006: 92/1295/8

2005: 86/1221/5

1100/7 isn't a reach here, and while Driver will be 33 this coming season, I don't think projecting two more productive years is a stretch. Those numbers generally translate into a low end #1 WR or a high end #2.

tuff vote here. marvin is still a top ten if healthy... a big if limiting gonzales value another couple years. they kinda knock each other out. with that big contract walker just signed id have to pick him now. (asumeing he will be healthy)

stallworth might just be in this area now a brown with edwards and winslow teams wont be able to smother him.

I'll take 2-3 more years of Driver.
He was WR30 last year.Only had 2 tds.Lowest catches/yards/tds in the last 4 years. He's uh 33 years old.Jennings/Jones are the future starting WRs. Go check out Joe Horn. Young/better WRs take over, Horn slips into oblivion. With is age, falling production, Favre leaving, Driver is last years Moose. 50 catches, 600 yards, a few TDs. Even with Favre, Driver had lost a step. You really liking A-Rog? I'd sell Driver now for a 3rd round pick and not look back.

We're getting to the point where Harrison needs to start to be mentioned again. He was the #1 WR in 2006 and fell off in 2007 because of an injury. If he comes back healthy, there's no reason he can't put up at least top 15-20 #'s for the next couple years with potential for much higher, obviously.

No way I take guys like Moss or Coles over Harrison.

Would also start to consider some of the top rookies (Kelly and Sweed and Hardy).

how old is Driver??? how many TDs did he have again?Gennings has taken his spot...
Not so fast, I don't see Gennings or Jennings taking over just yet. Everyone thinks that with Favre gone Driver's numbers go down, he can still play and is bound to get more TD's. I can see Rodgers looking to Driver to move the chains more than the long ball to Jennings.

people get way to crazy over these young guys. for a #2 wr i want someone i know will perform these next 2 years. my #3 and #4 wr's i'll look for the long term upside.

If I am going to go with an old guy, I agree, Harrisonis the best of the bunch at least until we hear a negative report about his health. Seems like there have been some bad rumors about his health but nothing substantiated.

I like Santana Moss the best of these guys - good combination of relative youth, past production and an improving QB. A lot rides on Campbell's development but I don't think Moss has lost anything physically he had during his huge 2005 season. Staying healthy is key and they need a #2 WR (Hackett?).

In terms of age and proven production a case can be made for Moss. I think the questions surround his health and his commitment and Campbell, as you say.

Went with Chambers - older but it did appear as though him and Rivers developed good chemistry quickly so by next year I expect a slight improvement but over the entire season.

Rice was considered if I went with the youth/potential route.

Sorry for the delay getting back, and thanks for the bumping. Gonna call this one, and add Harrison for the next one.
