CHI

Good list.

BAL -- McNair/Boller/T. Smith --- The ravens need a real QB to compete.

BUF -- Edwards/Losman/Hamdan --- Losman showed little improvement.

CIN -- Palmer/Fitzpatrick --- Not all on the QB, defense was horrendous.

DEN -- Cutler/Ramsey --- Also not sold on Cutler

KC -- Croyle/Huard --- This is a mess.

MIA -- Beck/McCown --- Even worse.

NYJ -- Clemens/Pennington --- Two decent QBs

OAK -- Russell/Walter --- Can the kid play? They paid enough.

ATL -- Redman/Shockley --- Just bad.

CAR -- Delhomme/Moore --- If Delhomme stays healthy they could be alright.

DET -- Kitna/Orlovsky ---- Kitna is a good QB but not so good at forecasting.

GB -- Rodgers/Bell ---- 75 career pass attempts?

MIN -- Jackson/Bollinger -- I like Tavaris, but he was lousy last year.

NO -- Brees/Palko ---- Brees seems solid to me.

NYG -- Manning/Wright ---- Superbowl?

SF -- Smith/Hill ---- Smith's time is running out fast.

SEA -- Hasselbeck/Wallace --- Still think Hasselbeck is underrated.

Chicago definately needs help as well. Grossman is terrible.

Think that he meant those four clubs marked only need a back-up

DEN and CAR aren't in the QB market. Seattle either.

Yeah the Panthers can always give Vinny a call if needed..

CIN -- Palmer/Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick entered the NFL in 2005 as a seventh-round draft choice of St. Louis, and his Bengals tender is at a dollar amount which qualifies as his “draft-status level.” Therefore, if he signs elsewhere and the Bengals decline to match, the Bengals will be compensated his new team’s seventh-round choice in the 2008 draft.
I am starting to question Fitzpatrick’s value when they tender him at such a low level. Maybe the Bengals feel like Jeff Rowe or Carson's little bro will play just as well. I will take solace in the fact that teams don't always give late draft picks a fair shot see Derek Anderson. Vikings are/were willing to give up 3rd for Sage Rosenfels and IIRC, they gave up 6th rounders for Bollinger and Holcomb. Hmmm...

 Sorry for the confusion, several teams in my list were meant as teams in need of a QB2. Obviously Eli, Matt Hasselbeck, Brees and Palmer are in no danger; nor are Rodgers, Delhomme or Russell for that matter.

DET -- Kitna/Orlovsky
Not Kitna/Stanton ?
Take your pick, I don't think Detroit would rule out adding a compelling prospect in place of either Stanton or Orlovsky.

detroit needs a QB. Kitna is old and Stanton/Danny O are not the answer.

Hopefully Millen gets canned and they get someone in there that knows what there doing

Fixed.Kitna can't throw if he's got DE's on him in under two seconds. He was getting pummelled all last year, and Calvin was hurt. He still had good numbers.

Kitna should be good for another 2 seasons. That's long enough for another QB to come up to speed.

(BTW, Favre is one month shy of 3 years older than Kitna - not saying they compare easily, but QBs can age somewhat gracefully).

There is plenty of time between now and September, but there are a lot of real and fantasy teams that probably don't want to see their number one go down. Lots of QB messes in the NFL.

So Cutler is? Sorry Jason, :bigredx: here mate.

Yeah, I'm not getting the Cutler one at all, and as backups go, Ramsey is average. Cutler's stats in his first full season starting, 2nd year in league: 63.6% comp, 7.5 ypa, 4.3% TD, 3.0% INT at age 24For comparison:Tom Brady at 24 (first season starting, 2nd year in league): 63.9%, 6.9 ypa, 4.4% TD, 2.9% INTBrett Favre at 23 (first season starting, 2nd year in league): 64.1%, 6.9 ypa, 3.8% TD, 2.8% INTJoe Montana at 24 (started 7, played 15, 2nd year in league): 64.5%, 6.6 ypa, 5.5% TD, 3.3% INT

Why are you writing Stanton off after one year?
:hey: , its way too early for that.
Dating back to college he is oft injured and being a from a local school he didnt impress me as a Top end NFL calibre QB. So I'm not writing him off after one year, I been writing him off for awhile. I think that if there is a regime change in detroit after another stellar 6-10 season than the whole QB tandem in detroit would be re-evaluated.

Any regime change will bring about player reevaluation, so that's not news. As for Stanton's assessment, I understand the injury concerns but from what I've gathered NFL scouts seem to like the way that his physical attributes should translate to the NFL. I wonder about using college performance anyway, given how differently we've seen many QB's perform in the NFL versus college, e.g. Brady, Anderson, Romo, Hasselbeck, etc.

Freudian slip there, Cutler is obviously also safe. But I do think Shanny wouldn't hesitate to upgrade over Ramsey if the opportunity presents itself.

You can take the bengals off the list they have palmer/fitz/jeff rowe, and they like rowe. They didnt draft him that high to be third string.
