As a BC Eagle fan, I can tell you "No" I wish him well and hope for the best, but I see him being a bust.

In what way does he remind you of Manning? His arm? Decision making? Dedication to his craft by hours of studying? Dashing good looks? Inability to beat the cheatin' Patriots?

He looks NOTHING like Carr. He is much more mobile, much more composed, and handles pocket pressure. Re: Manning. Not even close. I think people forget how elevated Manning was as a prospect because Leaf "closed the gap" at draft time. Peyton Manning was the most heralded draft prospect of the last dozen years. His classroom habits as a 22 year old were the thing of legend. He could make every throw, withstood pressure, could throw on the run, and read defenses like a vet. Where's the film of him curling up in the fetal position 5 seconds before the DL arrives? How about the film of him dropping back and hauling ### towards the sidelines for a loss (and sack) instead of throwing it away at the last second? I'm in this camp.Ryan is more Brady like in his movements. I didn't say he has the ability of Brady but he is somewhat goony like Brady. Everyone of these QB's coming in is far from a sure thing including Ryan but the Falcons have to do something.

Brohm looks nothing like Manning either. His arm is noticeably weaker, for starters...

Oh, it's not even close but Brohm does most resemble Manning in this QB class.
His command of the offense/field vision and pocket passer style are similar, as are his limitations on the move and under pressure - I wouldn't say "looks nothing like" - there are some similarities, and I would argue more than any other QB in this class.

I've watched every game Ryan has ever started and the only way he reminds me of Manning is with his attention to detail and the way he prepares for the game. Physically he reminds me of Hasselbeck. His biggest asset is his pocket presence and command. With a mediocre oline, running game and WR's, he still looked calm at all times and made things happen to move the ball. He's not Brady as far as that goes, but its definately one of his stronger assets.

I would offer that the QB most similar to Manning is, in fact, Chad Henne. If you took game tape of both Henne and Brohm without knowing who they were (and without knowing Henne is a bit shorter than Manning) and watched them, Henne would be more similar to Manning under the widest variety of scenarios.
