You never know.....makes it easier for the double play.Regardless of the situation, there's no reason for a team's BEST player to be hit 3 times in one game. Do you think it's a coincidence that Utley is Philly's best player and that they Mets and Phillies are in the same division? The Mets deserve to lose this game just for being dbags.

FWIW, one of them MIGHT have hit a thread on his jersey but that's about it. And Utley more or less leaned into the other two.

Utley just admitted on Mike and Mike this morning, FWIW, that he could have gotten out of the way of at least one of the pitches if he wanted to, but bascially said he was taking one for the team and doing anything he could to get on base. He went on to say that only the last one that drilled him in the back hurt him at all

Why not? The guy would have won it last year if not for breaking his wrist and the incredible season the Met killer Jimmy Rollins had. Utley is the best player on the field tonight.
