Where are the rookie IDPs falling? 2008 Rookie ADP data (1 Viewer)

Jene Bramel

Footballguy
I know Tick/Spec1alk have provided similar data in the past once the Zealots crews got a little deeper into their drafts, but I figured it'd be worth starting a separate thread this year given the lack of a drafting consensus in IDPland. May help to keep everything in one place since folks have been posting their drafts in other threads.

It'd be very helpful if you'd list the number of teams in your league, whether your draft is rookie/vet/combined, a brief idea of your scoring system (i.e. PPR, starting IDP lineup, X tackle pts, Y sack pts) and update your post every round or so with IDPs only.

I was pretty shocked that none of the LB's went earlier.Last year Bloom started the run @ 1.09 with Willis

2006 had Hawk going at 1.14

2005 was the same as this year with Merriman holding off until 2.06

I can't believe I got Gholston at 3.08 in this league. Seriously though, I took Willis at 1.08 and 1.10 in different leagues last year. Not bad choices. This year I just don't see those kind of players. Dorsey and Ellis I do think will surprise in leagues in years to come.

Normally the start 2 QB format bumps all players down a bit, but this year it looks like the main IDPs are going in good spots.

I've got the 08 spec1alk spreadsheet up and running. Nothing to report yet - only one IDP has been taken in one league. One of us will surely check in later in the summer and give the averages for the 60 Zealots drafts.

I don't get why Dizon is going so high.

Sims is the man in Detroit. DET is a scheme designed for the Will, right?

I'd take alot of those rookie LBs over him.

Personal preference.

It is, but the Mike scores well there also.

For me, Dizon was on my watch where he goes list leading up to the NFL draft, an obviously soared up the board when Detroit drafted him.

After reading the scoutin reports on him (due to his size, or lack-there-of) had me thinkin' Zach Thomas. Now, I'm not saying he's gonna be another Zach, just his intangibles reminded of him.

In a very equally balanced D-O scoring league, Dizon was the first D player taken at 1.8 in one league I am in. If he starts at MLB and plays 3 downs.... he could be a stud.

Is that DigitalDan? If so he took him in Cheating Bastages too at 2.07. I took Lofton at 2.08(12 team dynasty). 1.08 seems awful early but he and Lofton have been getting a lot of press lately.

Yes. I wondered if it was that league. Dan has a man crush on Dizon. :goodposting:
Maybe he's getting info you aren't
Yeah I know. He's been moving up but none of these guys are Willls or Ryans in my opinion.

Besides I'm thinking more long term. There are 4 or 5 guys near the top.
If you have 4 or 5 near the top Dizon has to be one IMO.And Ryans wasn't Ryans right away. I got him with a 3rd rounder in his rookie draft. He was not hyped like Willis was

Thanks for the thought Jene.I have created the excel sheet and am just waiting for the rookie drafts to start. Since there is a new syndicate (Hutson) with 12 new dynasty teams, I will also have a 2008 Vet ADP sheet if anyone is interested. When the sheets are available I will update my sig with them and post in both the Sharkpool and in the IDP forum.Personally, I am interested to see how the top 3 picks average out.

I think I got him even later than that, but Zealots has slightly lower scoring on IDP positions than other leagues.

I'm interested.

Scoring same as Post #4 by me.

Line-up = 3 DL, 4 LB, 3 DB

Link to draft

1.12- C. Lofton LB

2.02- D. Connor LB
Yes. I wondered if it was that league. Dan has a man crush on Dizon.
Maybe he's getting info you aren't
Now Mayo's #1. These guys are pretty even at the top. Adibi keeps rising as well.
Mayo, Dizon and Lofton are essentially co-#1s according to the average consensus. Mayo and Dizon have consensus rankings of 2.7 and Lofton is 2.8. Adibi is going to move up a couple spots in my rankings this week, though he's still going to be the 8th LB on my list.

12 team league, IDPs start 2-2-2, PPR IDP scoring: Solo Tackles 2 points, Assisted Tackles 1 point, Passes Defended 2 points, Defensive Touchdowns 6 points, Fumble Recoveries 4 points, Fumble Forced 2 points, Interceptions 4 points, Assisted sack 1.5 points, Sacks 3 points, Safeties 2 points

2.02 Keith Rivers- LB, CIN

2.04 Jerod Mayo- LB, NE

2.05 Curtis Lofton- LB, ATL

2.07 Jordan Dizon- LB, DET

2.12 Dan Connor- LB, CAR

3.03 Chris Long- DL, STL

2.04 Glenn Dorsey- DL, KC

2.08 Tavares Gooden- LB, BAL

2.09 Vernon Gholston- DE/LB, NYJ

2.12 Kenny Phillips- DB, NYG

Zoomanji and I have gone back and forth on the top 2-3. I consider them basically equal at this time. Until we hear more from camp I don't see a clear #1. I want to see how they fit in the various systems first.

16 team league hybrid keeper/contract league, start 2 LB, 2 DL, 2 DB, 1 Flex, 2 pts per tackle, 4 per sack (etc.). Rookies can be contracted for up to 4 years at relatively low cost compared to auction cost for LB2/3. DL can usually be gotten for a 3rd/4th round value and DB at close to minimum salary so they generally drop in the draft.

1.09 Lofton

1.11 Mayo

1.12 Dizon

2.01 Rivers

2.05 Connor

2.06 Gooden

2.07 Adibi

2.13 Kehl (who?)

and we are waiting for 2.14 in a 6 round draft.

Giants(from ESPN)4th round 24(123) Bryan Kehl OLB BYU

Kehl plays too high, so he has problems anchoring against the run. He also lacks ideal man-to-man cover skills, but there's a lot to like about his upside: He's athletic, has good speed and has the frame to get bigger.

Lofton just went 1.1 in a 32 team dynasty league I am in.

2.15 Chris Long3.01 Kenny Philips3.04 Rodgers-Cromartie3.05 Harvey3.06 McKelvinVery far from normal so far this draft. These last five picks will have to be top ten in their position each of the next four years to be worth their cap hit.
