He's got great talent. I'd like to see them get him. They won't because he's not their kind of guy (i.e., talented at WR and trouble).

As another Eagles fan, I think you're nuts. I can't see him providing much of an upgrade over Curtis or Brown, and we just spent a high second for a slot guy.
I'm not saying that a dominant #1 type wouldn't be welcome, but this guy aint it, and we have plenty of solid #2s and #3s. -------------------- 2007 BDSL Champ

Kinda reminds me of the freddie mitchell pick a couple years ago. Fred X is going to make a comeback this year right? Barring any locker room fist fights, he will be a good fit with Henry. -------------------- |

Kinda reminds me of the freddie mitchell pick a couple years ago. Even if he were, Avant/Baskett still make an above average #3/4. Henry would probably bump them down, but why would anyone bring in a headcase to be a #3, especially with a solid #3 already? -------------------- 2007 BDSL Champ

Why? You already had a guy in T.O that's less of an off-field problem and has twice the talent, and he couldn't exist. He nearly tore the team apart. Why on Earth would you want to bring in a TO-lite type of player who's even more of a jerk-off outside the hashmarks? Let him go to Oakland where he belongs.

Sure... lots of people don't care for me on these boards. I go against the grain, I call people out, I come across as arrogant even though I don't intend to. Just scan through this thread, there are posts just to attack me, by people who didn't post anything else in the thread at all. So yes, there are people who disagree with me, simply to disagree with me. There are people who try to twist my stand on players, and then use that as ammo to insult me. But whatever, I come to this board for FF info, and while it's gone down the tubes extremely much in the recent years, it still provides a lot of good insight because of some of the longtime posters who haven't yet given up on the board. And what's sad, is there are a number of long time posters who have given up on the board. They don't post at all anymore, primarily because no one on here wants to acknowledge a dissenting point of view, people are too busy trying to make others look bad, instead of adding to the information. Most of the newer posters pop in with one liners, that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. It's really made this place lose a lot of it's lustre. And the funny thing is, one of those posters is going to pop in, quote my post, and say something to the effect of "don't let the door hit you..." because people just have no respect for one another, as is becoming more and more evident on these boards. It's a shame the moderators let it get so out of control. I'm not for censorship, but there should be standard, and recently this board has become like an asylum taken over by inmates. /rant I'll never understand the "answer mine and I'll answer yours" angle. If you can't answer your own questions, why would I be comfortable with you answering mine? |

No you don't get it. It isn't a business to the true fanbase; Eagles' football is a birthright & a tradition that's shared amongst family & friends & passed down to the next generation...at least it used to be. Im with DH; this team can kiss my ### as long as that sadistic piece of garbage is on the roster. I'm a true fan & I'm not going to check my morals at the door like Lurie & company just did. Disgusting after the way they've preached character for the last decade. I don't care what charades they partake in to try & sandbag the public; the guy is rotten to the core & always has been. It's pretty convenient for him to see the light now that he's lost all his worldly possessions. Sad day to be an Eagles fan. David Tyree's catch was like when Vader threw the Emperor down a reactor shaft. Millions of annoying voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. |

I am a Jets fan and I would not mind having Henry on my team...He is a trouble maker, but I never heard anything about him being a bad teammate. He also does not have the clout to divide a locker room, so if he becomes an issue, cut him and don't look back. -------------------- Who's that creepin' in your window?!?

Henry would be of little use this year. He is going to have to sit-out the first 8 games, just like last year, if any team decides to pick him up.
I heard the Bengals were talking about bringing him back due to the lack of WR depth on their team. -------------------- "Nice is for women's magazines. Nice is for losers."

Any of you guys been watching the training camp live that they show on philadelphiaeagles.com?
If so, is the stream a little glitchy for you too? I'm on a PC that's pretty short on RAM so I wasn't sure if it was me or the stream. The audio is perfect, but the picture will hang some. |

There's not a team in the NFL that couldn't find a use for a WR of Henry's talent. I also agree that he's not been a problem in a locker room.
The question for him is whether he'll continue to be what amounts to a ghetto teenager off the field even as he dominates on the field. I'm not sure the Eagles are the best team for him, though they've had a chronic need for top level talent at the WR spot throughout Reid's tenure, aside from the 1.5 years they had with TO. In truth, I'm not sure that I trust Henry to hold it together off the field for any length of time, regardless of destination. -------------------- |

This would be a good opportunity for the NFL to show players they won't put up with thuggery. All owners should ban together and black ball that SOB.

I heard yesterday that Goodell suspended Henry for the first 4 games of '08 for violating the leagues conduct policy. Henry is allowed to practice though, so he could land somewhere soon. I am on the fence as to whether the Eagles should bring him in. He most definately has the talent. Can't say his head is screwed on right though.

I know this i will never do it again if there is not a great reason why this has happened..i tried to PM everyone i could but got no response to something i really want to know the answer of, for in the future i will not ever attempt to post new information again if this was done for no good reason. |

No way on Henry, he wouldn't be worth bringing onto the team unless he was a solid number one. Which he most certainly isn't. Although hes talented, he doesn't have what we need so it would be a waste of money.

He needs to go to a team that doesn't "need" him, but that can use him as an accessory, which is why I mentioned the Cowboys, for example. -------------------- |

i will disagree with anyone who says this guy isn't much of an improvement over our no. 3 and 4 guys.
i think he would instantly be the no. 1 WR on this team, talent-wise. reggie brown? come on. white lightning? no thanks. chris henry was being compared to TO on a talent level 2 years ago. if he stayed out of trouble he'd be a definite boost to the offense. |

I'd love the Eagles to sign Henry. I know that they'll probably never do it, but like I posted in another thread, what do the Eagles really have to loose? Offer him an incentive laden deal with a very low signing bonus, and if he gets into trouble again just cut him. It's possible he might have learned something from getting cut, losing his house, having his car repo'd. The Eagles are also a little different than the Bengals - might also help a bit.
I like KC, but I think Henry would instantly be their #1 WR. I think Curtis would be an excellent complement, tho. |

As a Bengals fan, I've always thought that Chris Henry was probably the best WR on the team. Shame he couldn't get his act together off the field.
I went to the Bengals-Falcons preseason game last year and sat right behind the Bengals bench. I noticed that he really seemed to keep to himself and only talked sparingly to teammates and fans behind the bench. So, I don't see him as a locker room distraction, except for the fact that he's always suspended and not in the locker room. Any team that gets him will benefit greatly, as long as they can keep him on the field. |

The Eagles would be a good fit, and I'd love it as a McNabb owner, but I think they'd prefer not to add a guy with off-field issues if they can help it.
The team who Henry makes the most sense for is Tennessee, I think he would give them an explosive element that they don't have in the passing game(Chris Johnson not withstanding) plus they would be cornering the market on Chris Henry's. |
