The Arizona Republic reports Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin isn't as mad as hell anymore. He looks happy. He's laughing. He's saying all the right things. He wants to be a team player. He wants to smooth things over. He just wants to win. He said he never considered not reporting to camp and holding the team hostage. "It ain't worth it, man," Boldin said. "My teammates work too hard, and I know I'm a big part of the process with this program. If I held out or did anything like that, I'd be letting them down." That's right, the man who stoked the most controversy in training camp with suggestions of a holdout, who then demanded a trade and went so far as to say he would never sign another deal with the franchise - and that he has absolutely no communication with his coach - doesn't seem so sour after all. "The thing is, we've got to work together, no matter what the situation is," Boldin said as he sat in front of his locker, talking to the only reporter in the room at the time. "I'm here, I'm not going to make it a negative situation for nobody. That's never been my intent. It never will be. The only thing I did was come out and stated what I believe. That hasn't changed. But the season is here now, my teammates have worked hard, and I know I've worked my butt off, so there's no need to let things linger over into the season."

It is because with Warner, he will get 1200~1400 with double digit TDs. So after this year, he can ask for more money.

Before with Leinart, Boldin knew he will not near 1000 and double digit TDs. So he tried to get money as soon as possible.

The Cardinals wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a part of it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if its because he loves to play the game of football.

It's funny how players whine and moan about their contract so they can get traded (see CJ) but when the team stands its ground and they realize they have no other options, they can suddenly put that stuff behind them and play for their team again. Boldin should try to stay healthy for a full season before expecting the Cardinals to redo his deal.

By the same token maybe management & coaches shouldn't promise to redo contracts.

Bolden is no dummy. He knows that if he wants to get paid next season that he has to improve his attitude and perform

does the fact that he is no longer mad coincidentally come at the same time where Lito Shepard's agent said he expects him to be traded shortly?

I like Boldin, but I've lost a little respect for him through all this. I understand trying to get your payday, I do. But to threaten to hold out, demanding a trade and saying you would "never" do something and then suddenly turn your frown upside down does nothing for your credibility. Don't threaten what you have no intention of following through with.

I don't know the man but, I would think it is safe to assume he probley does not care if he is traded. Bolden just wants his coin just like every other human on this planet.

it's a business, and a cutthroat one at that. these players have short careers. they are just tryin to get their slice.

Of course he also doesn't say that his stance that he won't sign with the Cardinals has changed at all.I'm no longer mad at the sandwich place down the road that failed (for 3 days) to sweep up the broken glass in the entrance to their parking lot I pointed out to them after having not noticed it before it was too late. But I still won't eat there again on principle.Maybe he will be willing to re-sign with them, maybe not. Either way, he's doing the right thing for himself. I think he needed to stand up for himself, but showing a team attitude is going to help him whether it is another team he's signing with next year, or the Cards.

Well, if he really wasn't mad, it didn't last long. John Clayton reporting that Rosenhaus is trying to get him out of Arizona by the trade deadline.

I'd love to see him land in Dallas. TO, Boldin, and Witten would be a sick trio... I think he'd put up very solid numbers right off the bat and as TO begins to decline over the next few years, he'd become a monster.

Is Dallas a possibility? What are other potential destinations?

Also, I don't think Boldin will ever stop being mad. The way he plays, he seems like he's mad at the world. I hope he never loses that chip on his shoulder... It's what makes him one of my favorite players.

He probably heard "only team interested is Baltimore" and changed his tune in a hurry.
