Thoughts on Houston DST vs DET. this week? (1 Viewer)

Looks like a good pickup at first glance but it really makes you wonder on how bad the Texans have been on D this year. Any thoughts?

Thinking the same thing, but this may be a case of awful offense against awful defense = average results. Trying to decide between them and Dolphins at home vs Baltimore.

I'm a homer, but I almost always advise against starting the Texans DST against any team. However, if you're really desperate for a bye week replacement, this might be the one time to use the Texans. Jacoby Jones is finally playing with confidence again on punt returns, and Andre Davis is a good kick returner. Mario Williams is a beast who should be able to dominate the Lions rookie LT Cherilus (if he's not benched this game). And the Texans get Dunta Robinson back on the field this week.

FWIW...

Stats Allowed by the Detroit Lions

22 Sacks

7 Interceptions

1 Safety

0 Punt Return Touchdowns

0 Kickoff Return Touchdowns

3 Defensive Return Touchdowns

Stats Amassed by the Houston Texans

7 Sacks

3 Interceptions

0 Safety

0 Punt Return Touchdowns

0 Kickoff Return Touchdowns

0 Defensive Return Touchdowns

Id be cautious about this move cause of our secondary. Calvin and ROy should easily overmatch our corners IF they can get him the ball.

Mario still should cause havok though, i can see 3 sacks this game.

Dunta Robinson has not been activated off the PUP yet, he's just been cleared to practice with the team. He's not playing Sunday, they're just testing him out to see if he's close to being able to compete.

I dunno, the way Kubiak and Rick Smith spoke about him recently leads me to believe he might play Sunday.http://houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?story_id=4748

Does sound like he has a chance to play but one has to wonder how effective he could be having not practiced with the team all year.

I like the Fins at home vs Baltimore.

You are not familiar with the Texans' secondary?
