Uruk, from a FF aspect is what I meant I guess, sorry for the mixup. I mean I understand a RB by committee approach, I really do...but when you go from giving a guy (Rice) 20 carries for 150+ yards one week to 7 carries the next, granted he only rushed for 17 yards on those 7 carries, how can you justify that you have a clear view of what you want out of your backs on a weekly basis? I mean we have seen it happen to all of their backs but like I said before, this is strictly from a bias FF standpoint and not meant in literal terms of production from the team.
It stinks from a FF perspective. I've tried to pick each week who I thought would be "the guy" for the upcoming game. This week, I thought Rice's talents suited playing the Eagles best........Most of my weekly picks have been about as accurate. I have all 3 in various leagues & had to play all 3 this week, mostly out of desperation (Rice was voluntary). But if I had legit choices, I wouldn't start a single one of them. The other thing that throws me off is, once the game starts, who gets the early carries may not have the big game The coaches obviously have something in mind because their rotation changes every week, but I'll be damned if I can see the rhyme or reason to the pattern.
It's the most situational use of RBs I've ever seen in this town. Harbaugh and Cam probably draw up the game plan based on what they see of the opponent's defense and then plug in whatever guy best fits the scheme -- initially, at least. Once they get going and start making adjustments on the fly, it could end up being somebody else who's the better fit. Look, this is a team with little margin for error. They have to play every series, every play like it's the one that will win the game.
I think Cam is coaching his buttocks off, looking for every little edge he can get on every series and every play. And that means that nobody knows who's gonna be carrying the rock at any given time in any given game.
