Moseley - 20/21 FG's, 16/19 PATs
Jim Plunkett - Raiders 8-1 record, 58% completion rate, 2035 yards, 14td passes
I'm just saying that, in my experience, he's right about black barbershops.

strike-shortened season. throwaway vote maybe? or a deliberate fork in Al Davis' eye?

Redskins = Super Bowl champs
Mosley sets all-time record for consecutive FGs

In week one, Moseley hit a long FG in regulation to send the game into OT and then booted the winner in overtime. In week six, a road win at a good Cardinals team, he scored all Washington's points in a five point win. In week seven, he hit three field goals in a one point win against a decent Giants team.
Throw in that he had one of hte greatest kicking seasons of all time, and you can see why he won the award. You can't see why he deserved the award, but voters like to give the award to the most valuable player on the team with the best record.
It had nothing to do with Al Davis. Plunkett wasn't in the discussion for MVP -- he wasn't one of the top five QBs in the NFL that year. Dan Fouts was the one who got screwed, as he was having arguably the best season of his HOF career. Ken Anderson and Joe Montana, as they often were back then, would have been legitimate MVP candidates as well.

Including the game-winner as time expired in the snow to clinch a playoff spot.In week seven, he hit three field goals in a one point win against a decent Giants team.
Marcus Allen was probably the Raiders best MVP candidate.It had nothing to do with Al Davis. Plunkett wasn't in the discussion for MVP -- he wasn't one of the top five QBs in the NFL that year. ETA: 1098 yds from scrimmage and 14 TDs in 9 games.

Check out Wes Chandler's stats in 8 games that year:
49 catches
1,032 yards
9 TDs
There's your MVP
Agreed, kickers watch soap operas in the locker room, while the rest of the players are out practicing. The only reward they deserve is not getting duck-taped the goal post when they have a good season.
Change is inevitable except from a vending machine. When the chips are down, the buffalo is empty. Those who live by the sword... get shot by those who don't.

How does an MVP kicker miss three PATs in a half-season?
